OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO
The Board of Administration., State Employees' Retirement Systemo hereinafter
referred to as Board., and the City Council,of the City of El Segundo, hereinafter
referred to as Public Agency, having entered into a contract under date of August
25, 1943, effective October 1, 1943., and as amended effective November 1, 1947,
August 1, 1949, July 1, 1950, November 1, 1955, September 1, 1958, and March 9,,
1959, which provides for participation of Public Agency in said System, Board and
Public Agency hereby agree as follows:
A. The following sub-paragraphs shall be added to paragraphs 5 and 6 of
said contract and shall apply to Public Agency:'
5(c) Section 21365.5 (providing a monthly allowance in lieu of the
and basic death benefit for certain survivors of a member who dies
6(g)(6) in employment after qualifying for voluntary service retirement).

5(c) Section 21251.6 of the Government Code (providing for increases
and in allowances payable for time commencing on the effective date
6(g) (7) of this amendment to persons retired prior to January 1, 1962).

5(c)(1,07) The 1961 amendment (Chapter 2197) to Section 21364 (providing for
an additional death benefit to be paid to certain widows of
safety members who die as a result of an accident or an injury caused
by external violence or' physical force).
B. Paragraph 7 shall be amended to read as follows:
7 (a) 2.2250 of total salaries paid monthly to members until June 30
1968 on account of the liability for prior service benefits.
7 (b) 7.420% of total salaries paid by Public Agency each month to
its employees who are and hereafter become members of said
Retirement System, provided that only salary earned as members
of said System shall be included in said total salaries.
C. This amendment shall be attached to said contract and shall be effective
as of November 7, 1964

AUTHORIZING AN AMENDME9IT TO CORRECT AN ERROR IN THE CONTRACT BETIZE1d SAID
CITY OF EL SEGUATDO AND THE
STATE h2eLOYEES' RETIREAtisNT SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo entered into contract
effective October 1, 1943 With the Board of Administration, State
Employees' Retirement System, and
WHEREAS, the City Council subsequently by Ordinance No. 623 approved an amend-
ment to said contract increasing the allowances for persons already
retired under said contract in accordance with Section 21251.6 of the
Retirement Law, and
WHEREAS, the amendment adopted by said Ordinance provides that the amendment
shall be effective November 7, 1964, and
WHEREAS., it was the intention that the increase in allowances payable under said
amendment become payable on the first day of month next following the
effective date of the ordinance, and
"HERE S, Section 20161 of the State Employees' Retirement Law provides that
errors in a contract may be corrected through amendments approved by
the adoption of suitable resolutions by the contracting parties.,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said City Council of the City of E1 Segundo
does hereby authorize the following amendment to said contract:
A. Section 21251.6 of the Government Code (providing for increases in
allowances to persons retired prior to January 1, 1962) shall apply
to allowances payable for time commencing on the first day of
November 1964.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the presiding officer of said City Council be,
and he is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said
amendment for and on behalf of said City Council.
