BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Since the next Council meeting is after the August 13, 2000 proposed event, the
City Council must call for a special meeting to consider approving the permit
Staff has been examining alternatives with DirecTV Since an elephant is the
only animal in the circus, we asked them to consider the elimination of it They
have stated that they are reluctant to eliminate the elephant because it has
already been advertised to the employees
Staff has authority to turn down the circus, or eliminate the ability to have the
elephant
