Commission, and Senior Citizen Housing Corporation Board.

AGENDA ITEM STATEMENT AGENDA HEADING: COMMITTEES
AGENDA DESCRIPTION: Interview applicants for positions on the Capital Improvement Program Advisory
Committee; Community Cable Advisory Committee, the Investment Advisory Committee, the Planning
Commission and the Senior Citizens Housing Corporation Board.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: Interview, deliberate and appoint candidates.
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND:On April 15, I997 the City Council directed staff to commence the
recruitment process for the vacancies on the Senior Citizens Housing Corporation Board, as well as other CCBs.
Interviews were held on June 10, 1997, and candidates appointed. No applicants were appointed to the Senior
Citizens Housing Corporation Board and recruitment for the 2 positions was continued.
On July 15, 1997 the City Council also directed that recruitment commence for (1) position on the Capital
Improvement Program Advisory Committee; (1) position on the Community Cable Advisory Committee, (1)
position on the Investment Advisory Committee, and (I4tember osition on the Planning Commission due to the
resignation of Chairman Yeagley, with interviews set for 10, 1997 at 7:00 p.m.
On September 3, 1997 the City Council rescheduled the date of interviews to Saturday, September 13, 1997 at
9:00 a.m.
In compliance with established practice, the vacancies were advertised on the City's water bills, the El Segundo
Herald and on cable t.v. Applications were made available at various locations. In addition, application packets
were given to City Councilmembers and members of the various CCBs for potential applicants.
DISCUSSION: The following applications were received prior to the 5 p.m. filing deadline on Wednesday,
September 10, 1997. [See reverse side.] Applicants have been scheduled for 10 minute interviews commencing
at 9:00 am.
