THIS INDENTURE, made this 6,t� day of March, 1950, by and
between FLORENTINE SHRODE, a single woman, residing at 247 West 77th Street,
Los Angeles, California, first party, and the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a muni-
cipal corporation of the County of Los Pngeles, State of California, second
party, -
W I T N E S S E T H:
That the said party of the first part, for and in consideration
of the sum of One Dollar ($1.00), lawful money of the United States of

America, to her in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt
of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents grant and convey
unto the said part of the second part, a perpetual easement and /or right of
way for the construction, reconstruction, inspection, maintenance, operation,
repair and removal of pipes, pipe lines, mains, fittings, fixtures and appur-
tenances for the furnishing and transportation of water for domestic and
irrigation purposes, together with the necessary ditches, channels, conduits
or tunnels necessary in order to construct, reconstruct, inspect, maintain,
operate, repair and remove the same, in, over, upon, across and along the

g described real property located in the City of El Segundo, County
of Los Angeles, State of California, to wit:
The westerly ten (10) feet of the easterly fifteen
(15) feet of that certain portion of Lot 2, J. H. Fisher's
Subdivision, in Section 12, Rancho Sausal Redondo, in the
City of E1 Segundo, as per map recorded in Book 22, Page
87 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly pro-
longation of the center line of Maryland Street as shown on
the map of Tract No. 12887, recorded in Book 249, Pages 24
and 25 of Maps, in the office of said County Recorder, with
a: -line parallel with and distant northerly 61.67 feet,
measured at right angles, from the northerly line of said
Tract No. 12887; thence easterly along said parallel line,
294 feet to the northerly prolongation of the center line
of Bungalow Street as Qown on the map of said Tract No.
12887; thence northerl , along said last mentioned prolonga-
tion, to a line parallel with and distant northerly 123.33

feet, measured at right angles, from said northerly
line of Tract Ito. 12887; thence westerly along said last
mentioned parallel line, 294 feet to said northerly pro-
longation of the center line of Maryland Street; thence
southerly along said last mentioned prolongation, to the
point of beginning, -
together with the right, which is hereby granted, to said party of the
second part, its officers, agents and employees, and to persons under
contract with it and their employees, to enter upon and to pass and re-
pass in, over, under, upon, across and /or along said parcel or strip of land
and to deposit tools, implements, equipment and supplies, excavated earth
and /or other material thereon, whenever and wherever necessary, and as
often as occasion may require, for the purpose of constructing, reconstruct-
ing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, repairing and removing of pipes,
pipe lines, mains, fittings, fixtures and appurtenances for the furnishing
and transportation of water for domestic and irrigation purposes, together
with the necessary ditches, channels, conduits or tunnels, or any of them
above mentioned.
The granting of this easement is subject, however, to prior
easements for other public utilities which have been heretofore granted
over the same property.
The said party of the first part further agrees that during the
life of this easement, said party of the first part will not, nor will her
successors or assigns, construct in or upon the premises covered by this
easement, any building or structure which will interfere with the exercise
of any of the rights and privileges granted in this easement.
In consideration of the foregoing grant, the party of the second
part hereby agrees that it will use its best efforts to see that all con-
struction work done pursuant to the rights granted under this easement
will be done in a good and workmanlike manner, and that upon the comple-
tion of any excavations which may be made, that so far as possible such
excavations will be re- filled and the surface of the land restored as nearly

as reasonably possible to the same condition in which it existed prior
to the making of such excavation.
TO HAVE AND TO SOLD all and singular, the said promises unto
the said second party, its officers, agents and employees, and persons
under contract with it and their employees, for the uses and purposes here-
inabove recited.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said party of the first part has hereunto
