CERTIFIED COPY OF RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AT ITS REGULAR
MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 14, 1956.
«RESOLVED, that a copy of that certain Road Easement,
dated the 8th day ofDecember, 1955, executed by Southern Cali-
fornia Edison Company to the City of E1 Segundo, conveying a
certain portion of Lot 60 Block 107, as shown on E1 Segundo Sheet
No. S. as per map recorded in Book 20, pages 114 and 115 of Maps,
in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, for
public street and highway purposes, be placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk for identification and reference; that
the City Council hereby approves said document and authorizes the
Mayor and City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo to execute same on
behalf of the City of El Segundo, and the City Clerk is hereby
further authorized to deliver a copy so executed to the Southern
California Edison Company; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that that certain Road Easement,
hereinabove referred to, granting to the City of E1 Segundo an
easement for public street and highway purposes over and across
that certain real property in the City of E1 Segundo, County of
Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows:
That portion of Lot 6 in Block 107 of E1 Segundo,
Sheet #5, as per map recorded in Book 20, pages
114 and 115 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the above
mentioned Lot 6; thence Easterly along the Northerly
line of said Lot 6, 7.00 feet; thence Southwesterly
in a direct line to a point in the Westerly line of
said Lot 6, sa44 point being 2.00 feet Southerly
from the point of'-beginning; thence Northerly along
said Westerly line 2.00 feet to the point of begin-
ning.,
be and the same is hereby accepted for public street purposes in
connection with the widening of Walnut Avenue, in said City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and she is
hereby authorized and directed to cause said instrument to be filed
for record in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County, California."

ROAD EASEMENT
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a corporation organized
under the laws of the State of California, and having its
principal place of business at the City of Los Angeles in said
State, hereinafter called "Grantor ", does hereby grant to the
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, hereinafter called "Grantee ", an easement for
public road and highway purposes over and across that certain real
property in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, described as follows:
That portion of Lot 6 in Block 107 of E1 Segundo,
Sheet #5, as per map recorded in Book 20, pages 114
and 115 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the above men-
tioned Lot 6; thence Easterly along the Northerly
line of said Lot 6, 7.00 feet; thence Southwesterly
in a direct line to a point in the Westerly line of said
Lot 6, said point being 2.00 feet Southerly from the
point of beginning; thence Northerly along said Westerly
line 2.00 feet to the point of beginning.
This easement is granted subject to the following:
1. That certain unrecorded license for agricultural
purposes as granted to L. C. Burks and Chas. A. Eaton
by instrument dated May 12 1955•
2. The right of the El Segundo Land & Improvement
Company, its successors or assigns, to lay, maintain,
repair, restore, increase the size of and remove pipes
and conduits in and under that portion of said lot 32
that is within the westerly 138.08 feet of lot 6, block
107 of E1 Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20 pages
114 and 115 of Maps, for the purpose of distributing
and supplying water for domestic, industrial and irriga-
tion purposes, as recited in the deed from the Los
Angeles Trust & Savings Bank, a corporation, to M. Iwai
by deeds recorded August $, 1913 in Book 5549 page 207
of Deeds, and various other deeds of record.
Covenants, conditions and restrictions, affecting the
above mentioned portion of said lot 32, imposed by the
above mentioned deeds.
The aforesaid easement is granted also subject to all easements
frights, leases, licenses and encumbrances, whether of record or not,
affecting the above described real property or any portion thereof,
land subject also to the right of said Grantor, its successors and

repair, replace, reconstruct and /or remove in, on, over, under,
through, along and across the above described real property,
electric transmission and distribution lines and telephone lines,
together with supporting structures and appurtenances, for convey-
ing electric energy for light, heat, power and telephone purposes,
and pipe lines and appurtenances, for the transportation of oil,
petroleum, gas, water or other substances; and said easement for
public road and highway purposes shall be so exercised as not to
interfere with the construction, maintenance, use, operation,
presence, repair, replacement, relocation, reconstruction or
removal of such electric transmission, distribution or telephone
lines or pipe lines, and the said Grantee, by the acceptance of
this instrument, agrees to hold harmless and indemnify said
Grantor, its successors and assigns, from and against all damage
to such electric transmission, distribution and telephone lines
and supporting structures and appurtenances and pipe lines and
appurtenances, by reason of the construction, reconstruction
and /or maintenance of said public road or highway, and to pay to
said Grantor, its successors or assigns, upon demand, any and all
costs of relocation and /or reconstruction of such electric trans-
mission, distribution and telephone lines and supporting
structures and pipe lines which may be or become necessary by
reason of the construction, reconstruction and /or maintenance of
said public road or highway.
Said Grantor reserves for itself, its successors and assigns,
the right to trim any tree or trees which may grow in said road
or highway, and which in the opinion of said Grantor, its
successors or assigns, endanger or interfere with the proper
operation or maintenance of said electric transmission, distribu-
tion, and telephone lines, to the extent necessary to prevent any
such interference or danger.

of this instrument, this grant of easement is made and accepted
upon and subject to the express condition that the opening,
widening and /or improvement of the road or highway for which
this easement is given, shall be done without cost or expense
whatsoever to said Grantor, its successors or assigns, and that
in the event a special assessment or assessments is or are levied
by any authorized lawful body against the real property of said
Grantor, its successors or assigns, for said opening, widening
and /or improvement, the said Grantee, in consideration of the
execution and delivery of this Road Easement by said Grantor,
agrees, by the acceptance of this instrument, that it will
reimburse said Grantor, its successors or assigns, and it shall
be the binding obligation of the said Grantee to reimbuse said
Grantor, its successors or assigns, for the full amount of any
and all such special assessment or assessments so levied for
said improvement and paid by said Grantor, its successors or
assigns.
The rights hereby granted are not necessary or useful
in the performance of the duties of said Grantor to the
public.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said Grantor has caused its corporate
name and seal to be affixed hereto and this instrument to be
