Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA.
SEPTEIMBER 19, 1945
RESCLVED, that that certain Grant of Easement from Standard Oil
Company of California, to City of El Segundo, a Municipal Corporation,
dated the 19th day of September, 1945, presented this Council. this date,
covering the following described parcels of land, being portions of Lots
2 and 3, of Tract No. 1314, as per map recorded in Book 20, Page 161 of
Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, all
situate in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
to wit:
That portion of Lot 2 included within a strip
of land 10 feet wide lying southerly of and adjoining
the southerly line of E1 Segundo Blvd., 52 feet wide,
and extending from a point distant thereon 35 feet
westerly from the easterly line of said Lot 2 to a
point distant thereon 635 feet westerly from said
easterly line; and
Those portions of said Lot 3 included within the
following described strips of land lying southerly
of and adjoining the southerly line of E1 Segundo
Blvd., 50 feet wide, as follows:
(a) A strip of land 12 feet wide extending from
a point distant 62 feet westerly along said southerly
line from the easterly- line of Lot 3, to a point
distant 392 feet westerly from said easterly line.
(b) A strip of land 8 feet wide extending from a
point distant 522 feet westerly along said southerly
line from said easterly line to a point distant 892
feet westerly from said easterly line.
(C) A strip of land 10 feet wide extending from a
point distant 1152 feet westerly along said southerly
line from said easterly line to a point distant 2262
feet westerly from said easterly line.
(d) A strip of land 6 feet wide extending from a
point distant 2262 feet westerly along said southerly
line from said easterly line to a point distant 2542 feet
westerly from said easterly line,
be accepted on behalf of the City of E1 Segundo;
AND, BE IT FURTIER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of
E1 Segundo is hereby directed to cause said instrument to be filed for record
in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California;
AND, BE IT FURTEiE'R RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they
are hereby authorized and instructed to execute the said Grant of Easement on
behalf of the City of E1 Segundo and to cause one copy thereof, so executed,
to he delivered to said Grantor.

Sn consideration of the sum of Ten and no /100 Dollars
$10.00), receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, STANDARD OIL
OWANY OF CALIFORNIA, a corporation, Grantor, does hereby grant
to he CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a Municipal Corporation, Grantee, an
easement for roadway fills and slopes, appurtenant to the adjacent
public highway, upon, over and across those certain parcels of land,
being portions of Lots 2 and 3, of Tract No. 1314, as per Map re-
corded in Book 20; Page 161 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder
of the County of Los Angeles, all situate in the said City of E1
Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and described
as follows:
That portion of Lot 2 included within a strip of
land 10 feet wide lying southerly of and adjoining the
southerly line of E1 Segundo Blvd., 52 feet wide, and
extending from a point distant thereon 35 feet westerly
from the easterly line of said Lot 2 to a point distant
thereon 635 feet westerly from said easterly line.
AND ALSO,
Those portions of said Lot 3 included within the
following described strips of land lying southerly of
and adjoining the southerly line of El Segundo Blvd.,
50 feet wide, as follows:
(a) A strip of land 12 feet wide extending from
a point distant 62 feet westerly along said southerly
line from the easterly line of Lot 3, to a point dis-
tant 392 feet westerly from said easterly line.
(b) A strip of land 8 feet wide extending from a
point distant 522 feet westerly along said southerly
line from said easterly line to a point distant 892
feet westerly from said easterly line.
(c) A strip of land 10 feet wide extending from a
point distant 1152 feet westerly along said southerly
line from said easterly line to a point distant 2262
feet westerly from said easterly line.
(d) A strip of land 6 feet wide extending from a
point distant 2262 feet westerly along said southerly
line from said easterly line to a point distant 2542
feet westerly from said easterly line.
Said easement is hereby given and accepted, subject to the
following exceptions, limitations, conditions, reservations, and
covenants:
1. That Grantee accepts said easement subject to
all valid and existing licenses, leases, grants, excep-
tions and reservations affecting said parcels of land.

2. That said parcels of land shall be used only
for the purpose aforesaid, and if not so used or if not
used in accordance with the conditions and covenants
hereinafter contained, after six (6) months' notice of
any default, and failure of Grantee to curelsuch default
within said time, all rights hereby given shall cease and
determine and Grantor may thereupon re -enter and take and
hold possession of said parcels; and Grantee agrees in
that event to remove all earth and materials placed by
it upon said parcels and to restore the same to the con-
dition they were in prior to the construction of said
roadway fills and slopes.
3. That during all the time said parcels of land
are used for the above purpose, Grantor and its sub-
sidiaries, their successors and assigns, may at their
own expense:
a) Lay, construct, maintain, operate, repair,
renew, change the size of, increase the number of, and
remove pipe lines for the transportation of oil, pet-
roleum, gas, gasoline, water, and other substances and
erect, maintain, operate, repair, renew, add to, and re-
move telegraph, telephone and power lines under, along,
over and across said parcels of land and the right so to
do at any time and from time to time and at any place or
places, is hereby expressly reserved to Grantor and its
subsidiaries, their successors and assigns, subject only
to reasonable regulation by the proper authorities.
b) Construct, maintain and remove a fence,
paralleling said E1 Segundo Blvd., along and through
said parcels of land.
4. That Grantee will at all times, at its own cost
and expense, maintain said roadway fills and slopes in
good and safe condition and so as to prevent any dis-
placement of said fills and /or the falling of any mater-
ials from the slopes thereof onto the properties of
Grantor and that whenever necessary, it (Grantee) will
construct suitable protective works of stone, concrete or
other materials upon said fills and slopes.
5. Grantee covenants that it will hold Grantor and
its subsidiaries, and their successors and assigns,
harmless from and will indemnify them against any and
all damage to or loss of property, or injury to or death
of person that directly or indirectly may be caused by
or result from the presence or state of repair of said
fills and slopes, or the exercise or enjoyment of any
of the rights herein granted, or the failure to comply
with any of the obligations of Grantee hereunder.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, these presents are hereby executed as
of the 19th day of 4entember , 1945.
