R261S T R E E T D E E D THIS INDENTURE, made this 8th day of July , A. D., 1941, by and between SPERRY GYROSCOPE COMPANY, INCOR- PORATED, of Brooklyn, New York, the party of the First Part, and the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a Municipal Corporation, situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of Oalifornia, Second Party, - W I T N E S S E T H: That the said First Party, for and in considera- tion of the sum of One Dollar ($1.00), lawful money of the United States of America, to it in hand paid by the Second Party, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents grant and convey unto the said Second Party, a perpetual easement and /or right of way for a public street, in, over, upon and across that certain piece or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to -wit: PARCEL . A strip of land 10 feet in width in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of Cali- fornia, being that portion of that certain parcel of land described in deed to Sperry Gyroscope Company, Incorporated, recorded on December 19, 1939, in Book 17125, page 209, Official Records of said County and shown as the westerly 5.9 acre parcel on map in Book 37, page 40, Record of Sur- veys, filed in the office of the Recorder of said County, in the North East Quarter of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, in the Rancho Sausal Redondo as shown on map recorded in Book 1, pages 507 and 508 of Patents, Records of said County and as said quarter section is also shown on Map of the Property of K. D. Wise, recorded in Book 70, page 97, Miscellaneous Records of said County, lying south of and adjacent to the southerly line of Imperial Highway as said line is shown as the southerly line of County Road on said map of the property of K. D. Wise, to be named and known as "Imperial Highway ". 1- The property above described is delineated and shown as Parcel 5 upon that certain map or plat hereunto attached, designated as "Right of Way Map for the Widening of Imperial Highway between Inglewood and Redondo Road and Sepulveda Boulevard ". Said map is hereby referred to and by this reference incorporated hereinand made a part hereof. Said property is to be used for public street purposes only, and in the event that said land, or any portion thereof, is not used for such purposes, or if after being so used the same is abandoned for such purposes, or vacated as a public street, it shall revert to the owners of the adjoining property, their heirs, executors, adminis- trators, successors and assigns. This deed is made for and in consideration of a release granted by the City of E1 Segundo to the Sperry Gyroscope Company of all right by the City of E1 Segundo to assess the Sperry Gyroscope Company for the present planned widening and improvement costs of Imperial Highway on this property. The present planned widening and improvement, from the costs of which said Sperry Gyroscope Company and its property are hereby released, consists of the following items of improvement, to -wit: 1. The widening of the highway to 76 feet between curbs from Sepulveda Boulevard easterly. 2. The Construction of: (a) 2" Asphaltic Concrete wearing surface over the existing 30 foot wide 6" Asphaltic Concrete pavement. (b) 8" Asphaltic Concrete Pavement 14 feet wide on both sides of above existing pavement. (e) 8" Cement Concrete Gutters 9 feet wide on both sides. FM (d) Cement Concrete Curbs on both sides. (e) Cement Concrete Sidewalks: 1. On the North Side from the Main Entry to the Los Angeles Municipal Airport appro- ximately opposite the Main Entry to the Sperry Plant to Inglewood and Redondo Road. 2. On the South Side from Northrop Street to Inglewood and Redondo Road. 3. The provision of Drainage by the construction of: (a) A reinforced concrete pipe conduit together with catch - basins spaced approximately 450 feet apart along the north side from the Main Entry to the Los Angeles Municipal Airport to the existing y concrete lined channel along the easterly line of said airport. (b) A reinforced concrete box conduit together with catch - basins spaced approximately 450 feet apart along the south side from approximately 1250 feet west of the west fence line of the Sperry Plant to a new culvert to be constructed immediately west of the A.T.& S.F. Main line, to empty into said channel along the easterly line of said Airport. (c) The construction of a weir basin and inlet into above conduit at the westerly fence line of the Sperry plant. (d) The construction of a catch -basin and 80 vitrified clay pipe drain into above conduit from the low point in the lawn immediately north of the Sperry Office Building. 4. The relocation of all fences, structures and sub- structures necessary to this improvement. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular, the said premises unto the said second party to be used as and for a public street, and for no other purpose. "RESOLVED, that that certain Street Deed, dated Tuly 8th, 1941, executed by Sperry Gyroscope Company, Inc. of Brooklyn, New York, conveying to the City of E1 Segundo for public street purposes, a strip of land 10 feet in width designated as Parcel No. 5 in said Deed and more particularly described therein, and the real property conveyed thereby, be and the same is hereby accepted on behalf of the City of El Segundo; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council does hereby approve the terms and conditions set forth in said Deed and upon which the grant referred to is made; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby authorized and directed to cause said Deed to be filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California."
