S087GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR SANITARY SEWER PURPOSES. THIS INDENTURE made this 26th day of May , A. D., 1939, by and between EDLOU COMPANY, a Corporation, organized under and existing by virtue of the laws of the State of California, and having its principal place of business in the City of Los Angeles, State of California, the party of the first part, and the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, party of the second part, W I T N E S S E T H: That the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar ($1000), lawful money of the United States of America, to it in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents grant and convey unto the said party of the second part, a perpetual easement and right of way for the construction, reconstruction, inspection, maintenance, operation and repair of a sanitary sewer or sewers or instrumentalities providing for the control, flow and disposal of sewage, together with the necessary outlets, manholes, ditches, drains, conduits, tunnels, channels, or other appurtenances, in, over, upon, across and along that certain piece or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of Cali- fornia, and particularly described as follows, to-wit- All that certain portion of Lot 118, Block 123, as shown upon E1 Segundo Sheet No. 8, recorded in Book 22, pages 106 and 107 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows; 1- Beginning at the southeasterly corner of the aforementioned Lot 118, Block 123; thence along the southerly line of said Lot 118 a distance of 3.33 feet to the point of intersection of said line with the northeasterly line of Lot 434, Block 123, as shown upon E1 Segundo Sheet No.8:, recorded in Book No. 22, pages 106 and 107 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file as aforesaid; thence along the northeasterly line of said Lot 434 in a northwesterly direction a distance of 12.76 feet to a point; thence N 890 52' 50" East in a straight line to the point of intersection of said line with the easterly line of said Lot 118, Block 123; thence along the said easterly line of Lot 118, Block 123 to the point of beginning, together with the right, which is hereby granted to said party of the second part, its officers, agents and employees and to persons under contract with it and their employees, to enter in and upon and to pass and repass in, over, upon, across and,, along said parcel or strip of land, and to deposit tools, implements, equipment and supplies, excavated earth and, other materials thereon, whenever and wherever necessary, and as often as occasion may require, for the purpose of construct- ing, reconstructing, inspecting, maintaining, operating and repairing a sanitary sewer or sewers or instrumentalities providing for the control, flow and disposal of sewage, together with the necessary outlets, manholes, ditches, drains, conduits, tunnels, channels and other appurtenances, or any of them, above mentioned. In consideration of the foregoing grant, the party of the second part, hereby agrees that it will use its best efforts to see that all construction work done pursuant to the rights granted under this easement, will be done in a good and workmanlike manner and that upon the completion of any excavations which may be made, that so far as possible such excavations will be refilled and the surface of the land re- stored as nearly as reasonably possible to the same condition in which it existed prior to the making of such excavation. 2- TO HAVE AND TO HOID all and singular, the said premises unto the said second party, its officers, agents and employees, and persons under contract with it and their employees, for the uses and purposes hereinabove recited.
