Lewis Transmitted herewith is a Quitclaim peed, executed or behalf of the City of El Segundo, quitclaiming its interest in a certain triangular parcel of land at the intersection of El Segundo DO& and Sepulveda nlvd., known as Parcel P, which was deeded to the city by the Pacific hlectric Railway Company for public street purposes, and which this city= finds it no longer requires. We are attaching a certified copy of an excerpt from the Minutes of the City Council of said City, of May 25, 1959, which authorized the orecution of this Quitclaim Deed* sery truly yours, Eunice U. That the Board of Underwriters has advised it will conduct tests on the City of E1 Segundots new aerial fire truck in the Inglewood test pit, from 9 :00 A.I4. to 12:00 noon, on I�ay 28th, and invited anyone interested to be present. 7. That he was in receipt of a communication from the bayor of the City of Los Angeles, stating that the convey- ance of fee title to the City of El Segundo, covering the Imperial strip will be presented to the City Council of the City of Los Angeles on Thursday, Ilay 28th, for final action. DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS WEBB MADE REPORTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Presented a written report on the re- development of three fresh :eater wells in order to increase the production rate; stated that it is estimated the development cost per well would be approximately Q1,900.00, and he recommended informal bids be received from qualified well drillers for one well, and if satisfactory, to then redevelop the other two. Moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman Baker, the above recommendation be approved. Carried. 2. That heretofore,Pacific Electric Railway Company deeded to the City of E1 Segundo, certain_ real property.for street purposes to be included in the improvement at the inter- section of E1 Segundo Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard; that one certain parcel is not needed,,and he recommended the City execute a Quitclaim Deed for that certain parcel. :loved by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman Gordon, the following resolution be adopted: RESOLD, that the following described real property, to wit: All that certain real property, situated in the City or E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, in the Rancho Sausal Redondo, des- cribed as follows: PARCEL B Irian =ularly shaped piece of land, in the south- east 1/4 of the southeast 1 /4. -of Section 12, Town- ship 3 South, Range 15 West, S.B.B. & Id. being all that portion of Lot 434, Block 123 of El Segundo, Sheet 'Jo. 8, as per map recorded in Book 22, Pages 106 and 107 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of said County, lying within the following des- cribed lines: Beginning at the most southerly corner of said Lot 434; thence 'Torth 89° 53' 49" East, along the south boundary of said Lot 434, a distance of 1.95 feet to the southeasterly corner of said Lot 434; thence North 0° 06' 3411 Jest, along the east boundary of said Lot, 50 feet; thence South 71° 59' 13" West to a point in the southwesterly boundary of said Lot 434; thence southeasterly along said south- westerly boundary to the point of beginning. - 5 - A :< 808 heretofore conveyed to the City of El Segundo by the Pacific Electric Railway Company, is no longer needed by said city; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor be hereby authorized and instructed to execute a Quit Claim Deed, and the City Clerk attest the same, for said real property, from the Citv to the Pacific Electric Railway Company. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen 3aker, Frederick., Gordon, Meschuk and Iiayor Benfield; f•Ioes: None Absent: Councilmen None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. T.'ayor Benfield announced this was the time for continuing the 'nearing to show cause why the building at 928 Eucalyptus Drive should not be condemned as a nuisance, and asked Director of Building and Safety if he was ready to make a report: Mr. Donald S. Woodford, Director of Building and Safety, stated he had made an.inspection of subject property on I/iay 22nd, and found there were only a few minor items on the list of corrections that were not completed; that these items were all accounted for,•.and that there is no longer a basis for condemnation, and recommended the hearing be closed and condemnation proceedings be abandoned. T•Ioved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman Gordon, the above recommendation be approved. Carried by the following vote: Ayes Councilmen Baker, Frederick, Gordon, Meschuk and Mayor Benfield;. Noes: None Absent: Councilmen None. 2. The application of The Target to allow dancing at its establishment located at 217 Richmond Street, was next considered. After discussing the matter., it was moved by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman Frederick, the appli- cation for permit,to allo•.%, dancing at The Target, be denied. Carried. 3. At the last regular meeting, bids for transite pipe had been received and ,;ere taken •.under consideration.
