Dear Vic:
SUITE 10 • 200 SO. PACIFIC AVE.
(ENTRANCE ON GARNET STREET)
REDONDO BEACH. CALIFORNIA
FRONTIER 2388
You will remember George H. Anderson, City
Treasurer of Redondo Beach for many ye,irs. Away back
in 1931 or 132 he deeded a lot to his son C. Darsie
Anderson, who evidently did not know anything about
it so the lot was finally acquired by the City of
El Segundo for non - payment of taxes.
Darsie Anderson was away in the service of the
Unite d States for approximately six years, and during
such time the property was sold. He has written a letter
to the City Council which is self - explanatory and which
I inclose herewith.
Will you please have it brought before the City
Council at the proper time and frith your recommendations?
I took the matter up with Mr. Woodworth and he suggested
that in view of the expense to which the city had been
put in this matter, that he thought the city might consider
a settlement for $500.00.
I took this matter up with Mr. Anderson last
March, but it has taken hLm a long time to raise the
$500.00. He has now secured this money and offers a
Cashier's Check on Chula Vista branch of Security Trust
and Savings Bank of San Diego, dated August 12, 1949,
No. CV 35566. I inclose such check. Will you please
do what you can for Mr. Anderson in thi's matter?

The Honorable City Manager and
Board of Trustees of the
City of E1 Segundo
El Segundo, California
Re: North 501 of Lot 1, Block 106 of E1 Segundo
upon which the City has brought an action
to quiet title in the Superior Court, Case
No. 539516, by reason of acquisition through
delinquent tax sale.
Gentlemen:
I am the owner of the above
property was sold to the City of El
quent taxes. The same was deeded to
described property. This
Segundo because of delin-
me by my father in 1932.
I was in the war for six years, serving the United
States, and during such time I believe the City or the County,
or both, must have sent notices of a proposed sale for delin-
quent taxes, but for the reason stated, no notices were ever
received by me.
I cannot afford to lose this property. I realize
that the City has been to considerable expense in filing the
action to quiet title and in purchasing the property. I was
wondering if there is some way in which I can compromise the
matter with the City and obtain from it a deed. I am willing
to pay $500.00 for such a deed, with the understanding that
the City will dismiss the action brought to quiet title and
release to me any and all rights which it may have in the
property above described.
Enclosed is a cashierts check for $500.00, payable
to the order of the City of E1 Segundo, which you may use if
your Honorable Body accepts this offer. In considering this,
I trust you will weigh carefully the fact that I was for so
long a time in the armed services of our Country and therefore
unable to handle my business in the regular manner and received
no notice of the sale.
Any help you can give me in this matter will be most
appreciated.
Yours very truly,
ara e Anderson
