From: Matt Gaynor, Maloney & Associates Insurance Services Subject: Certificate of Authority Jeff, The attached bond Obligee requested a Certificate of Authority to ensure that Travelers Casualty & Surety Company is currently licensed to transact Surety business in the State of California. The best way to confirm this is to check online — CA Dept. of Insurance. I have printed out a copy that provides evidence that Travelers is approved to issue Surety Bonds in California. Some owners require we go to a County Clerk office to put a gold seal on the document. The process requires we stand in line for an hour or so. Since the clerk's office is unfamiliar with how to do this — we walk them through the process (go on -line, look up Travelers, etc... ) and pay them $3.00 to do this. There is an office in San Marcos that will issue the Certificate with a seal. If the attached is not sufficient — let me know and I will get a sealed copy.
