AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
TITLE 10 (VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC) OF THE
EL SEGUNDO MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 10.52.010 (State Limits - Increased on
Certain Streets) of Chapter 10.52 (Special Speed Zones) of Title
10 (Vehicles and Traffic) of the E1 Segundo Municipal Code is
hereby repealed in its entirety and a new Section 10.52.010 is
hereby added to Chapter 10.52 of Title 10, to read as follows:
"10.52.010 STATE LIMITS - INCREASED ON CERTAIN STREETS.
It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon
the following streets is less than is necessary for safe
operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and
signposting of the streets as through highways or by reason of
widely spaced intersections, and it is hereby declared that the
prima facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on
those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs
are erected giving notice thereof:

SECTION 2. SECTION 10.52.020 (State Limits - Decreased on
Certain Streets) of Chapter 10.52 (Special Speed Zones) of Title
10 (Vehicles and Traffic) of the E1 Segundo Municipal Code is
hereby repealed in its entirety and a new Section 10.52.020 is
hereby added to Chapter 10.52 of Title 10, to read as follows:

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective at
midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the final passage
and adoption thereof.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in
the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall within
fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the
same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly
newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within
said City of E1 Segundo and which is hereby designated for that
purpose.
