ORDINANCE NO. 935
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 16.12 (PLUMBING
CODE)OF THE EL SEGUNDO MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ADDING SECTION 16.12.340 RELATING TO WATER
CONSERVATION FIXTURES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 16.12.340 is added to Chapter
16.12 of the "El Segundo Municipal Code" to read as follows:
16.12.340 SECTION 1010 ADDED - WATER CONSERVATION
FIXTURES. Section 1010 is added to read as follows:
Sec. 1010 - -Water Conservation Fixtures.
(a) Shower fixtures used for other than safety reasons
shall be equipped with flow control devices to limit
total flow to a maximum of three gallons per minute per
shower head.
(b) Kitchen sink faucets and lavatory faucets shall be
equipped with flow control devices or designed to limit
total flow to a maximum of three gallons per minute per
faucet.
(c) Water closets shall upon a single flush rinse the bowl,
evacuate the waste, and provide a water trap utilizing a
maximum of 4.0 gallons water per flush. Commencing
January 1, 1978, the maximum shall be 3.5 gallons water
per flush."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective at
midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the
final passage and adoption thereof.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered
in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall
within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause
the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly
newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within
said City of E1 Segundo and which is hereby designated for that
purpose.
