ORDINANCE NO. 902
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE "EL SEGUNDO
MUNICIPAL CODE" BY AMENDING TITLE 20
(THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE)
OF SAID CODE BY ADDING CHAPTER 20.44
RELATING TO TEMPORARY USES.
THE CI'T'Y COUNCIL OF .THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 20.44 consisting of Section
20.44.010 is added to Title 20 (The Comprehensive Zoning
Ordinance) of the "El Segundo Municipal Code" to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 20.44
"' TEMPORARY ACCESSORY USES
"20.44.010 CARNIVALS. Notwithstanding any other
provision of Title 20, Carnivals sponsored by local
non - profit organizations shall be permitted on any
property within the city zoned for uses other than
residential as an incidental or accessory use provided
that such use does not exceed seven calendar days,
including erection and dismantling, in any one calendar
year and, provided further, that the applicant -applies
for and receives a permit from the City Council to
operate such carnival and complies with all of the
conditions imposed upon the issuance of said permit..
"The City Council shall not approve any such permit
unless it finds that the operation will be conducted in the
manner required by the permit and will not adversely
affect the public peace, health, and safety of persons
or property in the vicinity of the property on which
the proposed carnival is to be located.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective at
midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the
final passage and adoption thereof.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered
in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall within fifteen
days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be
published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of

general circulation, published and circulated within said City
of El Segundo, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
