ORDINANCE NO. 869
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE "EL SEGUNDO
MUNICIPAL CODE" BY ADDING THERETO SEC-
TION 13. 08. 115 RELATING TO BEACH BICYCLE
PATH.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 13.08 of the "El Segundo Municipal
Code" is amended by adding Section 13.08. 115 to read as follows:
"13.08.115 BICYCLE PATH. That facility designed, con-
structed and designated as the beach bicycle path, inc.ltd ing all
ingress or egress ramps thereto, as shown on the map on file
in the City Engineer's office, shall be used exclusively for the
riding or propelling of bicycles by human power. The bicycle
path shall not be used by pedestrians or animals of any kind,
except that pedestrians may cross the same at right angles
in a manner so as not to interfere xith any bicycles on the
bicycle path when necessary to do so to gain access to or
from the beach. "
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective at mid-
night on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the final passage and
adoption thereof.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book
of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed
and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and adoption
thereof, cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a
weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within
the City of El Segundo, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
