AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 20 (THE COM-
PREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE) OF THE
"EL SEGUNDO MUNICIPAL CODE" BY AMEND-
ING THE ZONING MAP REFERRED TO IN SEC-
TION 20. 16. 030 OF SAID CODE. (IMPERIAL STRIP)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Title 20 (The Comprehensive Zoning Ordi-
nance) of the "E1 Segundo Municipal Code, " and in particular the "Zoning
Map of the City of El Segundo" on file in the Planning Department, be and
the same is hereby amended by reclassifying and rezoning to O -S (Open Space)
Zone, in the manner hereinafter set forth, the following described real
property located within the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, to wit:
All those portions of Sections 1. and 2, Township 3 South, Range 15 West, SBM, in
the Rancho Sausal Redondo, as per map recorded in Book 1, Pages 507 and 508 of
Patents, in the office of the County Recorder, Los Angeles County, bounded and
described as follows:
COMMENCING at the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of the Northwest
quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 11, Township 3 South, Range 15 West, SBM,
in said Rancho Sausal Redondo, said corner being an angle point in the common boundary
line between the Cities of El Segundo and Los Angeles, established June 15, 1917, and
described in Ordinance No. 36557 N.S. of said City of Los Angeles; THENCE North
890 54' 49" East along the southerly line of said Section 2 a distance of 154.68 feet
to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE northerly and easterly along the various
courses of the common boundary line between the City of Los Angeles and the City of
El Segundo as established by City of Los Angeles Communication No. 85817 and City
of El Segundo Ordinance No. 552, as follows: North 9° 05' 11" West 22.92 feet;
THENCE North 800 54' 49" East 524.53 feet; THENCE easterly along a tangent curve
concave to the South having a radius of 2, 949 feet and a central angle of 90 00' 00"
an arc distance of 463.23 feet to a point of tangency with a line parallel to and distant
141 feet northerly, measured at right angles, from said southerly line of said Section 2;
THENCE North 89° 54' 49" East along said parallel line 2,755.23 feet, more or less,
to the northerly prolongation of the centerline of Main Street (80.00 feet wide) said
line also being parallel with and distant 40 feet easterly, measured at right angles,
from the easterly line of Lot 1, Tract 3690, as per map recorded in Book 40, Page 55 of
Maps, in the office of said County Recorder; THENCE southerly along said northerly
prolongation 12.00 feet to a line parallel with and distant 129.00 feet northerly,
measured at right angles, from said southerly line of said Section 2; THENCE North
89° 54' 49" East 281.16 feet; THENCE North 860 05' 59" East 180.40 feet to a point
in a line parallel with and distant 141 .00 feet northerly, measured at right angles,
from said southerly line of Section 2; THENCE North 890 54' 49" East 268.68 feet,
more or less, to the westerly line of said Section 1; THENCE North 89° 55' 40" East
parallel with the southerly line of said Section 1 a distance of 705.00 feet, more or
less, to a point in the northerly prolongation of the centerline of Sheldon Street
(50.00 feet wide); THENCE leaving the said common boundary line between the City
of El Segundo and the City of Los Angeles, South 00 01' 00" West along said northerly
prolongation of Sheldon Street 141.00 feet to the southerly line of said Section 1;
THENCE South 89° 55' 40" West along the southerly line of said Section 1 to the
Southwest corner of said Section 1; THENCE South 89° 54' 49" West along the southerly
line of said Section 2 to the true point of beginning; EXCEPTING therefrom all public
streets, i.e., the North one -half of Imperial Avenue (60.00 feet wide), Main Street
(80.00 feet wide) between Imperial Avenue and Imperial Highway, and Hillcrest Street
(60.00 feet wide) between Imperial Avenue and Imperial Highway.
from R -1 (One Family Residential) to O -S (Open Space) Zone.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective at midnight
on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the final passage and adoption
thereof.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book
of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed
and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and adoption
thereof, cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a
weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within
said City of El Segundo, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
