ORDINANCE 834-�s ORDINANCE NO. 834 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE "EL SEGUNDO MUNICIPAL CODE" BY AMENDING SECTIONS 10. 52. 010 AND 10. 52. 020 RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS; SECTION 1. That Sections 10. 52. 010 and 10. 52. 020 of Chap- ter 10. 52 of the "El Segundo Municipal Code" are amended to read as follows; "10. 52. 010 STATE LIMITS- - INCREASED ON CERTAIN STREETS. It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineer- ing and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon the following streets is less than is necessary for safe opera- tion of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signpost ing of the streets as through highways or by reason of widely spaced intersections, and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof; 1110. 52,020 STATE LIMITS -- DECREASED ON CERTAIN S'T'REETS. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the passage and adop- tion thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly news - paper of general circulation, published and circulated within said City of E 1 Segundo and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
