ORDINANCE 681FA ORDINANCE NO. 681 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, 1958," BY AMENDING SECTIONS 10. 112 10.11. 12 10. 12 AND 10. 19 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE REGULATIOM. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALI- FORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Chapter 10 of "The Code of the City of El Segundo, California, 1958, " is amended as follows: (A) Sections 10. 11 and 10. 11. 1 are amended by adding to said sections a sentence to read as follows: "Annual permits are issued on a calendar year basis." (B) Section 10. 12 is amended by adding a sentence to read as follows: "Quarterly reports shall be submitted on or before the last day of January, April, July and October of each calendar year. " (C) Section 10. 19, Items Nos. 1 through 30 are repealed and Items Nos. 1 through 21 are added to read as follows: "1. For issuing permits ............... without light fixtures $2.00 with light fixtures 2.50 2. Receptacle, Switch and Lighting Outlets: For receptacle, switch, lighting, or other outlets at which current is used or controlled except ser- vices, feeders, and meters: First 20, each...** ......... ................ .20 Additional outlets, each .................. ... .... .10 NOTE: For multi - outlet assemblies, each five feet or fraction thereof may be considered as one outlet. 3. Lighting Fixtures: For lighting fixtures, sockets, or other lamp holding device s. Residential Appliances: For fixed residential appliances or receptacle outlets for same, including wall mounted electric ovens, counter - mounted cooking tops, electric ranges, air conditioners or coolers, space heaters, food waste grinders, dishwashers, washing machines, water heaters, clothes dryers, or motor operated appliances, not exceeding one (1) horsepower (HP) in rating, each.. 1.00 NOTE: For other appliances see Power Apparatus. 5. Non - Residential Appliances: For self - contained, factory wired, non - residential appliances not exceeding one (1) horsepower (HP) kilowatt (KW), or kilo - volt - ampere (KVA) in rating including medical and dental devices, food, beverage and ice -cream cabinets, illuminated showcases, drink- ing fountains, vending machines, laundry machines or other similar types of equipment, each ............... 1.00 NOTE: For other appliances see Power Apparatus. 6. Power Apparatus: For motors, generators, transformers, rectifiers, synchronous converters, capacitors, industrial, heat- ing, cooking, or baking equipment, and other apparatus, as follows: Rating in horsepower (HP), kilowatts (KW), or kilovolt - amperes (KVA) Up to and including 1, each 1.00 .......................... (d) For each moving of motors, generators, trans- formers or welders, upon which a final certificate has already been issued by the chief electrical in- spector, a fee equal to seventy -five per cent of the fee required for new equipment. 7. For each annual comprehensive or maintenance electrical permit at the time when such permit is issued........... 20. 00 Permits shall be issued on a calendar year basis. 16. Fees for all new work performed under an .Annual Compre- hensive Electrical Permit shall be paid quarterly according to this schedule. Such fees shall be in addition to the Annual Permit Fee. Quarters shall end on the last day of March, June, September and December. 17. For each service, including additions, relocations, increases or other changes: 300 volts or less......... 2.00 For services more than 300 volts ........................ 5.00 18. For temporary power pole installations ................... 2.00 19. Supplementary permits may be issued without the payment of the two dollar permit fee when additional work is to be performed on a project for which there is an active electri- calpermit.. ... .. ... .. ... ........... 1.00 plus the standard charge for each item installed. 20. Miscellaneous Conduits and Conductors: For electrical conduits and conductors for which a per- mit is required but for which no fee is herein set forth... 1.00 NOTE: This fee is not applicable when a fee is paid for one or more services, outlets, fixtures, appliances, power apparatus, busways, signs, or other equipment. " SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall become effective at mid- night on the thirtieth day from and after the final passage and adoption thereof. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a -3- weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within said City of El Segundo, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
