ORDINANCE NO. 628
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING "EL SEGUNDO CITY
CODE, 1958," BY ADDING SECTION 17.94.1 AND
AMENDING SECTION 17.95 (THE MOTOR VEHICLES
AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS) THEREOF, AS HERE-
INAFTER SET FORTH.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CA I-
FORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a new section to be known as "Section 17. 94.1"
shall be added to Chapter 17 of "The Code of the City of El Segundo, Cali-
fornia, 1958," which shall read as follows:
"SEC. 17.94.1. PARKING INOPERATIVE VEHICLE
FOR CONSECUTIVE PERIOD EXCEEDING TWELVE HOURS-
- PROHIBITED. No person shall park or leave an inoperative
vehicle in a public street for a period of more than twelve con-
secutive hours."
SECTION 2. That "Section 17. 95" of said Chapter 17 of said
Code, shall be amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 17. 95. SAME -- REMOVAL OF VEHICLE. In the
event a vehicle is parked or left standing upon a street, city -
operated off-street parking facility or city property, in excess
of a consecutive period of seventy -two hours, any member of
the police department authorized by the chief of police, may
remove such vehicle from the street in the manner and sub-
ject to the requirements of Sections 22651 and 22652 (a) of the
Vehicle Code, as they may apply.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective at mid-
night on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the final passage and
adoption thereof.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the
book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the pass-
age and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same
is passed and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and
adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the El Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circu-
lated within said City of El Segundo and which is hereby designated for
that purpose.
