ORDINANCE 602L ORDINANCE NO. 602 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING "EL SEGUNDO CITY CODE, 1958" BY AMENDING SECTIONS 17. 1, 17.6 3, 17.6 6, 17.69 AND 17. 74, ( THE MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS) THERE- OF, AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That a new paragraph shall be, and the same is hereby, added to "SEC. 17. 1 DEFINITIONS. ", of "ARTICLE I", of the "E1 Segundo City Code, 1958 ", and which new paragraph shall read as follows: "Whenever 'Imperial Highway' appears, geographically referring to a point westerly of Sepulveda Boulevard, it shall mean 'Imperial Avenue'." SECTION 2. That subsections (c) and (h) of "SEC. 17.63" of "ARTICLE VI. SPEED LIMITS. ", of said Code, shall be, and the same are hereby, amended so as to read as follows: NO El Segundo Boulevard, between Whiting Street and Sheldon Street, thirty -five miles per hour; between Sheldon Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, forty -five miles per hour. "(h) Imperial Avenue, between Main Street and Cali- fornia Street within the city, thirty -five miles per hour. " SECTION 3. That "SEC. 17.66" of "ARTICLE VII. STOP INTERSECTIONS. ", of said Code, shall be, and the same are hereby, amended so as to read as follows: "Sec. 17. 66. Enumerated. The schedule of stop intersec- tions and stop entrances in the city are hereby fixed, designated and established as follows: 1. Acacia Avenue and California Street, northerly and southerly entrances. 2. Acacia Avenue and Loma Vista Street, easterly and westerly entrances. 3. Alaska Avenue and Aviation Boulevard, westerly entrance. 4. Alaska Avenue and Douglas Street, easterly entrance. 5. Alaska Avenue and Hawaii Street, southerly entrance. 6. THROUGH STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.", of said Code, and in particular subsections "1", "3 1", "6" and "10" of "SEC. 17. 69 ", thereof, shall be and the same are hereby amended so as to read as follows: "1. Virginia Street, between the northerly line of El Segundo Boulevard and the southerly line of Imperial Avenue, excepting at its intersection with Franklin Avenue, Grand Avenue, Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue. "3. Center Street, between the northerly line of El Segundo Boulevard and the southerly line of Imperial Ave- nue, excepting at its intersection with Grand Avenue, Mariposa Avenue, Palm Avenue and Maple Avenue. "6. El Segundo Boulevard, throughout its entire length within the city, excepting at its intersection with Main Street, Sepulveda Boulevard (a state highway) and Aviation Boulevard. "10. Imperial Avenue, between the westerly line of Hillcrest Street and its intersection with Imperial Free- way, excepting at its intersection with Loma Vista Street, Virginia Street, Main Street, Sheldon Street, Center Street, California Street (westerly entrance only) and Imperial Free- way.It ; SC 4Gv'47: and there shall be and is hereby added to said "SEC. 17. 69" thereof, a new subsection to be known and designated as "11 ", and which shall read as follows: "11. Imperial Highway, throughout its entire length within the city, excepting at its intersection with Sepulveda Boulevard (a state highway). " SECTION 5. That "ARTICLE IX. TRUCK ROUTES.", of said Code, and in particular subsections 114" and "611, of "SEC. 17. 74" thereof, shall be and the same are hereby amended so as to read as follows: "4. Imperial Highway, from Aviation Boulevard to Sepulveda Boulevard (a state highway). "6. Vista Del Mar from the southerly boundary line to the northerly boundary line of the city. "; and there shall be and is hereby added to said "SEC. 17. 74" thereof, a new subsection to be known and designated as "7", and which shall read as follows: "7. Imperial Avenue, from Main Street to Imperial Freeway. " SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall become effective at midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the final pass- age and adoption thereof. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the pass- age and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circu- lated within said City of El Segundo and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
