ORDINANCE 590ORDINANCE NO. 590 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 507 (THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE) OF SAID CITY IN VARIOUS PARTICULARS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That subsection (2) of Section 400, of Ordi- nance No. 507 (The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance) of the City of El Segundo, California, shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows: "Accessory buildings and structures, including private garages to accommodate not more than three cars. Any accessory building, except the garage, shall not be larger in gross floor area than two - thirds of the area of the first floor of the main building, or one thousand square feet, whichever is the more restrictive and shall be only one story in height. Accessory buildings shall not contain any kitchen or kitchen facilities, and shall not be rented or used as a separate dwelling. " SECTION 2. That subsection (1) of Section 500 of said Ordinance No. 507 shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows: "(1) Any use permitted in the R -1 Single Family Zone and under the same conditions prescribed therein, except that the dimensions of the required yards as set forth in this zone shall apply, and the capacity of garages shall be limited to four cars. If the garage is in the rear portion of the lot and separate from the main building, a second floor thereof may be built and used for accessory building purposes above the garage. " SECTION 3. That subsection (1) of Section 1416 of said Ordinance No. 507 shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows: "(1) When such building is located upon a site contiguous to a public alley, it shall be provided with a minimum off - street loading space fifteen (15) feet in width, measured from the center of the alley and extending the entire width of the building and which distance shall in no case be less than forty (40) feet, and fourteen (14) feet in height. " SECTION 4. That the second unnumbered paragraph of Section 203, that subsection 4 of Section 801, and that subsection 5 of Section 901 of said Ordinance No. 507 be, and the same are hereby, repealed. -1- 3?. x SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall become effective at midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the final passage and adoption thereof. SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the pass- age and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, pub- lished and circulated within said City of El Segundo, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
