ORDINANCE 5353655 ORDINANCE NO. 535 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 507 (THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE) OF SAID CITY IN VARIOUS PARTICULARS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 237 of Ordinance No. 507 (the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance) of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali- fornia, shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as follows: "SEC. 237. FOSTER FAMILY DAY CARE HOME. tFoster family day care homer means a residence licensed by the State of California and the City of E1 Segundo to be used to care for children by the day, with or without compen- sation, provided, the number of children cared for at any one time shall not exceed six, including children of the family of the operator." SECTION 2. That Section 243 of said Ordinance No. 507 shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as fol- lows: "SEC. 243. HOME OCCUPATION. tHome occupations means an occupation conducted on the premises by the occu- pant of the dwelling as a secondary use in connection with which there is no display, no stock in trade or commodity sold upon the premises, no person employed and in connec- tion with which no mechanical equipment is used except such mechanical equipment as is customarily used for house- keeping purposes. No home occupation shall be permitted when the same is objectionable due to noise, dust, smoke, odor or other cause." SECTION 3. That a new item, to be known and designated as "6.1 ", shall be, and the same is hereby, added to "Section 400" of said Ordinance No. 507, and which new item shall read as fol- lows: MW '36S6 "6.1. Foster family day care home." SECTION 4. That Section 902 of said Ordinance No. 507 shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as fol- lows: "SEC. 902. HEIGHT. In the C -2 Zone no building shall exceed a height of forty -five (45) feet, excepting the C -2 area adjacent to and lying westerly of Sepulveda Boulevard; the C -2 area lying easterly of Sepulveda Boule- vard between Mariposa Avenue and E1 Segundo Boulevard; and that portion of C -2 property on Imperial Highway lying easterly of a point four hundred fifty (450) feet east of Center Street, in which no building shall exceed a height of seventy -five (75) feet." SECTION 5. That Section 1002 of said Ordinance No. 507 shall be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to read as fol- lows: "SEC. 1002. HEIGHT. No building or structure shall exceed a height of forty -five (45) feet, excepting all the C -M Zone lying westerly of and adjacent to Sepulveda Boule- vard, in which no building shall exceed a height of seventy - five (75) feet." SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall become effective at midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the final passage and adoption thereof. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall, within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly - 2 - 3637 newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within said City of E1 Segundo and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
