TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY
REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DE-
SAID CITY; PAY ITS BONDED INDEBTED-
FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF SAID CITY; MEET AND PAY
THE COSTS OF SEWERAGE FACILITIES OF SAID CITY;
AND ACQUIRE, MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE PUBLIC
PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES OF SAID CITY;
FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1955 -1956•
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of E1 Segundo,
California, as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said
City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its obligations under the
California State Employees' Retirement Act; maintain the free pub-
lic library of said City; meet and pay the costs of sewerage facili-
ties; and acquire, maintain and improve the public parks and recre-
ational facilities of said City for the current fiscal year 1955 -1956,
is hereby, for the respective items or purposes above and hereinaf-
ter set forth or referred to, determined and fixed as follows, to
wit:
. 1. For carrying on the various departments
of said City, the sum of ------------ - - - - -- $597,592.11
2. For paying the bonded indebtedness of
said City, the sum of --------------- - - - - -- $125,34$.58
3. For meeting and paying the obligations of
said City to the State Employees' Retire-
ment System under the provisions of the
California State Employees' Retirement

library of said City of E1 Segundo, as
authorized under the provisions of Sec-
tion 22211 (as amended) of the Education
Code of the State of California, the sum

5. For meeting and paying the costs of sewer-
age facilities as contemplated by law, the
sum of ------------------------------- - - - - -- 7,2$7.71
6. For the acquisition, maintenance and im-
provement of the public parks and recrea-
tional facilities of said City, the sum of - 72,877.08
SECTION 2. That this ordinance, being an ordinance fixing
the amount of money to be raised by taxation as required under the
provisions of Sections 51500 to 51519, both inclusive, of the Gov-
ernment Code of the State of California, to go into effect before
the lst day of September, 1955; and also being an ordinance fixing
the amount of money to be raised by taxation as referred to in Sub-
division "W" of Section 36937 of the Government Code of the State
of California, the same shall therefore take effect and be in full
force and virtue immediately upon the passage and adoption thereof.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of
the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at
which the same is passed and adopted; and shall cause the same to
be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated within said City, and
which is hereby designated for that purpose.
