No. 434 (The Comprehensi,.re Zon-in.F° Ordinance) of the City of El Se-
.-undo, California, passed and adopted. of the 14th day o -' April,
1954, as amended, pursua - -,L to proceedin;�' instituted by said City
PlanninF,- Conu-rission; and

T, Z), the Cit T Council of said City, on its own part,
did, as required by law, duly and regularly process and hold a
public hearing upon the said hereinafter quoted amendments on the
8th day of December, 1954, ad did take the same under advisement
until December 15, 1954; and
WHEREAS, on the 15th day of December, 1954, said Council
did -re.fer the matter back to the Plannins Commission with recom-
mended wordin'- on the said amendments and requested a further re-
port by the said Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS., on `,he 10th day of January, 1955, said Corr_mis-
sion did adopt its Resolution No. 2016 which reworded the proposed
amendments in accordance with the City Council's recomme- 'ldations;
and
JHEREAS, said City Council_ has now acquired jurisdiction
to adopt t:nis ordinance;

OW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That said Council does hereby refer to
Resolution No. 197 of the City Plan_-iing Commission of the City
of El Se5,undo, California, adopted on the 8th day of November,
1954, and to Resolution No. 206 of said Commission, adopted on
the 10th day of January, 1955, full, true and correct copies of
which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
open to public inspection, and so on file are hereby referred
to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part
hereof.
SECTION 2. 'That said City Council does hereby make
the same findings and determinations with reference to the
amendments, hereinafter set forth, as are made by said City
Planning- Commission with reference thereto in its said Resolu-
tion No. 206.
SECTION 3. That paragraph "(1)" of Section 1415 of
Article 14 of said Ordinance I\Io. 434, shall be and the same is
hereby amended so as -to read as follows, to wit:
"(1) Size and Access: (a) Each off- street park-
ing space for non - residential uses shall have an area
of not less than 170 square _meet, exclusive of drives
or aisles, and a width of not less than eight and one -
half (8 -1/2) feet. Each such space shall be provided
with adequate in =ess and e press.
(b) For residential uses, in the case of single-
family dwellings, such parking space shall be not less
than ten (10) feet wide by twenty (20) feet long; in the
case of two - family dwellings, such parking space shall be
not less than eighteen (18) -"eet wide by twenty (20) feet
long; in the case of multiple- family dwellings, not less

eac'n u._it, except where there is a partition or parti-
tions, in whicf� event one (1) foot of additional width
shall be provided. for eac'n such partition, and all of

434, shall be and the same is _Iereby amended so as to read as
follows, to wit:
't (a) For ore-, two -, or multiple - family dwellings
parkin'- facilities shall be in a buildin,; enclosed on
at least three sides and shall be located on the same
lot or building site as 4"ne buildin, -s they are required
to serve;"
SECTIOIJ 5. That said Ordinance No. 434, as amended,
shall be and the same is hereby amended as her.einabove in Sec-
tions 3 and 4 of this ordinance set forth.
SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force and virtue thirty days from and after the final
passage and adoption thereof.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passac;e and adoption of this ordinance; s':all cause the same to
be entered in the book of ori;;inal ordinances of said City; shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records
of the meeting- at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall,
within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause
-the same to be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly

newspaper of -eneral circulation, published and circulated within
said City of El Sec-undo and which is hereby desi7 ated for that
purpose.
