SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for any person within
said city to park, stand or leave standing at any time any vehicle
in such manner, that any part of such vehicle is vertically over
any line painted or placed by the Traffic Authority on the surface
of any street or roadway for the purpose of indicating angle or
parallel parking of vehicles.
ARTICLE XII
STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING.
SECTION 1. APPLICATION OF ORDINANCE.
(A) The provisions of this ordinance prohibiting the stopping,
standing or parking of a vehicle shall apply at all times or at
those times herein specified, except when it is necessary to stop
a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance
with the direction of a police officer or official traffic control
device.
(B) The provisions of this ordinance imposing a time limit on
standing or parking shall not relieve any person from the duty to
observe other and more restrictive provisions hereof or of law pro-
hibiting or limiting the standing or parking of vehicles in speci-
fied places or at specified times.
SECTION 2. STOPPING OR STANDING PROHIBITED - NO SIGNS
REQUIRED. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, or any
portion thereof, in any of the following places:
1. Within any tunnel or upon any bridge, viaduct or
approach thereto.
2. Within any parkway.
3. Within any intersection.
4. In a private driveway or on private property without
the direct or implied consent of the owner or person
in lawful possession of such driveway or property.
SECTION 3. PARKING COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL
DISTRICTS. No person shall park any commercial vehicle more than
five hours in any residential district except (a) while loading or
unloading property and time in addition to such five hour period is
necessary to complete such work, or (b) when such vehicle is parked
in connection with, and in aid of, the performance of a service to
or on a property in the block in which such vehicle is parked and
time in addition to such five hour period is reasonably necessary to
complete such service.

SECTION 4. THE TRAFFIC AUTHORITY TO ERECT SIGNS.
(A) The Traffic Authority may appropriately sign or mark the
following places and when so signed or marked no person shall stop,
stand or park a vehicle or any portion thereof, in anycf said places:
1. At any place so signed or marked between a safety
zone and the nearest curb and any place within
twenty (20) feet of a point on the curb immediate-
ly opposite the mid -block end of safety zone.
2. At any place so signed or marked within thirty
(30) feet of an intersection except that a bus
may stop at a designated bus stop.
3. At any place so signed or marked adjacent to, in front
of or opposite any fire station, police station,
theatre, school ground or public assembly hall, bus
or passenger station, or other gathering place.
4. At any place so signed or marked adjacent to and
within thirty -five (35) feet of any street car
tracks, interurban car tracks or railroad tracks
within said city.
5. At any place so signed or marked within said city
where in the judgment of the Traffic Authority the
parking or standing of any vehicle or any portion
thereof would interfere with or endanger person,
property or traffic, or would adversely affect or
endanger the public peace, health or safety, or in
any manner constitute a menace or hazard to pedes-
trians or other traffic at, in or about the loca-
tion where such signs or markings are so placed.
6. Whenever the United States of America is at war
with any other power or powers, at any place so
signed or marked adjacent to orvathin sixty (60)
feet of any plant or premises actually engaged in
the manufacturing, fabricating, assembling, han-
dling or treatment of any material or materials,
product or products, substance or substances,
thing or things, which relates or pertains to, or
is in any manner concerned with, prosecution by
the United States of America of such war.
7. Within twenty -five (25) feet of the approach to
the nearest line of a cross walk.
(B) Whenever the Traffic Authority shall determine that the
orderly, efficient conduct of the Cityts business requires that
parking or standing of vehicles on city property be prohibited,
limited or restricted, the Traffic Authority shall have the power
and authority to order signs to be erected or posted indicating
that the parking of vehicles is thus prohibited, limited or re-
stricted.
When signs authorized by the provisions of this section
are in place, giving notice thereof, no person shall park or stand
any vehicle contrary to the directions or provisions of such signs.

SECTION 5. CURB MARKINGS TO INDICATE STOPPINGS AND
PARKING REGULATIONS.
(A) The Traffic Authority is hereby authorized, subject to
the provisions and limitations of this ordinance, to place, and
when required herein shall place, the following curb markings to
indicate parking or standing regulations, and said curb markings shall
have the meanings as herein set forth.
1. Red shall mean no stopping, standing or parking
at any time, except that a bus may stop in a red zone
marked or signed as a bus zone; provided, that no bus
shall stop in any such bus zone for a longer period
than ten consecutive minutes.
2. Yellow shall mean no stopping, standing or park-
ing at any time between 8 :00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. of any
day except Sunday for any purpose other than the load-
ing or unloading of passengers or material, provided
that the loading or unloading of passengers shall not
consume more than three (3) minutes nor the loading or
unloading of materials more than twenty (20) minutes.
3. White shall mean no Sbopping,'standing or park-
ing for any purpose other than loading or unloading
of passengers which shall not exceed three (3) min-
utes and such restrictions shall apply between seven
a.m. and six p.m. of any day except Sunday and ex-
cept as follows:
When such zone is in front of a hotel the
restrictions shall apply at all times.
When such zone is in front of a theatre the
restrictions shall apply at all times except
when such theatre is closed.
4. White, with the words "Taxi Stand" stencilled there-
on in black letters at least three inches in height, shall
mean that no vehicle shall stop, stand or park in the
zone so marked except a taxicab, and then only a taxicab
operated by a person, firm or corporation duly licensed
by said City to operate taxicabs in said City and to whom
such taxicab stand has by the Traffic Authority or the
City Council been particularly assigned.
5. Green shall mean no standing or parking of any ve-
hicle for a longer period of time than five, ten, fifteen,
or twenty minutes, as may be indicated in white, conspicuously
stencilled, clearly legible letters and /or figures, by the
Traffic Authority, at the particular location at any time
between 8:00 a.m. and 6 :00 p.m. of any day, except Sunday.
(B) When the Traffic Authority, as authorized under this or-
dinance, has caused curb markings to be placed, no person shall
stop, stand or park a vehicle adjacent to any such legible curb
marking in violation of any of the provisions of this section.

SECTION 6. CURB PARKING - RIGHT OF WAY. For the purpose
of this section, a "limited curb parking space" shall mean an area
open for lawful parking along side of, and adjacent to, a curb,
which area is not of sufficient length to permit two or more ve-
hicles to freely move for parking therein at the same time.
Any person seeking to park his vehicle in a limited curb
parking space, whose vehicle arrives at said parking space prior to
any other vehicle, and who proceeds beyond said space a distance
not to exceed ten feet for the purpose of backing his vehicle there-
in, shall have the right of way over any person driving or attempt-
ing to drive any other vehicle directly into such limited curb park-
ing space or who in any manner obstructs such limited curb parking
space and the driver of such other vehicle shall yield the right of
way to the driver who first arrived at said parking space.
SECTION 7. The Traffic Authority may appropriately sign
or mark any place within said City where in the opinion of the Traf-
fic Authority any of the provisions of this ordinance apply, and
when so signed or marked no person shall stop, stand or park a ve-
hicle, or any portion thereof, in any of said places or locations,
so signed or marked, contrary to the directions, language or indi-
cations of such signs or markings at such place or location.
ARTICLE XIII
STOPPING OR LOADING OR UNLOADING ONLY
SECTION 1. THE TRAFFIC AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH LOADING
ZONES.
(A) The Traffic Authority is hereby authorized to determine
and to mark loading zones and passenger loading zones as follows:
1. At any place in any business district.
2. Elsewhere in front of the entrance to any place
of business or in front of any hall or place
used for the purpose of public assembly.
(B) In no event shall more than one -half of the total curb
length in any block be reserved for loading zone purpose exclusive
of the passenger loading zones at the entrances to public theatres.
(C) Loading zones shall be indicated by a yellow paint line
stencilled with black letters, at least three inches in height,
"LOADING ONLYtt, upon the tops of all curbs within such zones.
(D) Passenger loading zones shall be indicated by a white line
stencilled with black letters at least three inches in height, "PAS-
SENGER LOADING ONLY" upon the tops of all curbs in said zones.

SECTION 2. EFFECT ON PERMISSION TO LOAD OR UNLOAD.
(A) Permission herein granted to stop or stand a vehicle
for purposes of loading or unloading of materials shall not
extend beyond the time necessary therefor, and in no event for
more than twenty (20) minutes.
(B) The loading or unloading of material shall apply
only to commercial deliveries, also the delivery or pickup of
express and parcel post packages and United States mail.
(C) Permission herein granted to stop or park for pur-
poses of loading or unloading passengers shall include the
loading or unloading of personal baggage but shall not extend
beyond the time necessary therefor, and in no event for more
than three (3) minutes.
(D) Within the total time limits above specified the pro-
visions of this section shall be enforced so as to accommodate
necessary and reasonable loading or unloading, but without per-
mitting abuse of the privileges hereby granted.
SECTION 3. STANDING IN NARROW OR CONGESTED STREETS
OR IN ANY ALLEY. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle
for any purpose other than the loading or unloading of persons
or materials in any alley within said city, or when the Traffic
Authority shall have placed appropriate signs or markings there-
on to that effect on any narrow or congested street, or any part
or parts thereof, within said city, and authority to place such
appropriate signs and markings on such narrow or congested
streets is hereby granted to said Traffic Authority; provided,
however, that no alley may be blocked at any time.
SECTION 4. STAND FOR LOADING OR UNLOADING ONLY.
When authorized signs or marks are in place giving notice there-
of no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle for any purpose
other than loading or unloading passengers or materials for
such time as is permitted herein, in any of the following places:

1. In any yellow loading zone.
2. Within fifty (50) feet of any entrance to any
school, or any other building used for the
transaction of governmental business.
SECTION 5. STANDING IN PASSENGER LOADING ZONE. No person
shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in any passenger loading zone
for any purpose, other than the loading or unloading of passengers
for such time as is specified in Section 2 of Article XIII of this
ordinance.
SECTION 6. THE TRAFFIC AUTHORITY TO DETERMINE ADDITIONAL
LOADING OR UNLOADING PLACES. Whenever the Traffic Authority has
determined that parking shall be limited and authorized signs or
marks are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop,
stand or park a vehicle for any purpose other than loading or un-
loading passengers or materials in any of the following places:
1. At any curb where the grade of the street exceeds
twelve (12) feet.
2. On any part of a roadway having a widthcf not
more than twenty -five (25) feet.
3. In front of any hall or place used for the pur-
pose of public assemblage.
4. In front aC the entrance to any place in use for
business outside of any business district.
5. At any other place where the parking of vehicles
would result in traffic congestion or particular
hazard.
SECTION 7. PERMIT FOR LOADING OR UNLOADING AT'AN ANGLE
TO THE CURB. The Traffic Authority is authorized to issue special
permits to allow the backing of a vehicle to the curb for the-pur-
pose of loading or unloading merchandise or materials subject to
the terms and conditions of such permit. Such permits may be is-
sued either to the owner or lessee of real property or to the owner
of the vehicle and shall grant to such person the privilege as there-
in stated and authorized herein, and it shall be unlawful for any
permittee or other person to violate any of the special terms or
conditions of any such permit.
SECTION 8. BUS ZONES TO BE ESTABLISHED.
(A) The Traffic Authority is hereby authorized to establish
bus zones opposite curb space for the loading and unloading of buses
of common carriers of passengers engaged in local transportation,
and to determine the location thereof.
(B) No bus zone shall exceed fifty (50) feet in length
except that when satisfactory evidence has been presented to
said Traffic Authority showing the necessity therefor, said

Traffic Authority may extend bus zones in such places not to
exceed one - hundred twenty -five (125) feet in length.
(C) No bus zone shall be established opposite and to the
right of a safety zone.
(D) The Traffic Authority shall paint a red line stencil-
led with white letters "NO STANDING, together with the words,
"BUS ZONE" upon the tops of all curbs and places specified as
a bus zone.
ARTICLE XIV
PARKING LIMITS
SECTION 1. When authorized signs are in place giving
notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle
within said city on any of the respective streets or portions
thereof enumerated in this section for a period of time longer
than is specified herein for said respective streets or por-
tions thereof, to wit:
1. Five minutes on the southerly side of El Segundo
Boulevard between Virginia Street and Richmond
Street of any day;
TWO HOUR PARKING ON THE FOLLOWING:
2. Richmond Street between El Segundo Boulevard
and Franklin Avenue between the hours of $:00 a.m.
and 6 :00 p.m. of any day, excepting Saturdays and
Sundays;
3. Grand Avenue between Loma Vista Street and Main
Street between the hours of 8 :00 a.m. and 6 :00 p.m.
of any day, excepting Saturdays and Sundays;
4. Concord Street between Grand Avenue and E1 Se undo
Boulevard between the hours of 8 :00 a.m. and 6 :00 P.M.
of any day, excepting Saturdays and Sundays;
5. Virginia Street between Franklin Avenue and E1
Segundo Boulevard between the hours of 8 :00 a.m.
and 6 :00 p.m. of any day, excepting Saturdays
and Sundays;
6. Northerly side of E1 Segundo Boulevard between
Concord Street and Virginia Street between the
hours of 8 :00 a.m. and 6 :00 p.m. of any day,
excepting Saturdays and Sundays;
7. Main Street between Imperial Highway and E1 Se-
gundo Boulevard between the hours of $:00 a.m.
and 6 :00 p.m. of any day, excepting Sundays;

16. E1 Segundo Boulevard between Richmond Street and
Sepulveda Boulevard;
17. E1 Segundo Boulevard between Virginia Street and
Whiting Street;
18. North side of Rosecrans Avenue between Aviation
Boulevard and the westerly city limits;
19. South side of Imperial Highway between Main Street
and Nash Street;
20. South side of Imperial Highway between Nash Street
and Aviation Boulevard between the hours of 6:00 a.m.
and 9:00 a.m. and between the hours of 3 :00 p.m.
and 6:15 p.m.
21. Franklin Avenue between Richmond Street and the first
alley westerly of said Richmond Street, excepting
only vehicles of the City of E1 Segundo, California.
22. Coast Boulevard between the southerly boundary line
and the northerly boundary line of said city;

distant 362 feet southerly therefrom;
24.
Douglas Street between Imperial Highway and its
terminus southerly therefrom, except that two
hours parking shall be permitted along the west-
erly side of said street between the northerly
line of Mariposa Avenue and a line parallel with
and distant 1,550 feet northerly therefrom;
25.
First alley west of Richmond Street between Frank-
lin Avenue and Grand Avenue;
26.
118th Street between Lapham Street and Aviation
Boulevard;
27.
120th Street between Lapham Street and Aviation
Boulevard;
28.
North side of Mariposa Avenue between Virginia
Street and Richmond Street;
29. North side of Mariposa Avenue between Main Street
and the first alley easterly of Standard Street;
30. South side of Palm Avenue between Virginia Street
and Main Street;
31. West side of Aviation Boulevard between Imperial
Highway and El Segundo Boulevard;
32. East side of Loma Vista Street between Grand Ave-
nue and Mariposa Avenue;
33. Nash Street between Imperial Highway and the
southerly terminus of said street.
34. Maple Avenue between Sepulveda Boulevard and Nash
Street;
35• Lairport Street between Maple Avenue and Mariposa
Avenue;
36. Mariposa Avenue between Sepulveda Boulevard and
Douglas Street;
37. Grand Avenue between Center Street and Sepulveda
Boulevard.
SECTION 2. Except as otherwise provided in this or-
dinance, it is hereby declared unlawful for any person, firm,
or corporation, to park or stand any motorcycle, automobile,
trailer, camp car, or any other motor or other type of equipment
owned, operated, or controlled by such person, firm, or corpor-
ation, in or upon any public street, court, drive, alley or other
public place in the City of El Segundo for more than forty -eight
(48) consecutive hours within any period of seven days.
SECTION 3. UNLAWFUL PARKING - PEDDLERS, VENDORS.
(A) Except as otherwise provided in this section no per-
son shall stand or park any vehicle, wagon or push -cart from

which goods, wares, merchandise, fruits, vegetables, or food
stuffs are sold, displayed, solicited or offered for sale or
bartered or exchanged, or any lunch wagon or eating car or
vehicle, on any portion of any street within said City, except
that such vehicles, wagons or push -carts may stand or park only
at the request of a.bona fide purchaser for a period of time
not to exceed ten (10) minutes at any one place. The provi-
sions of this sub - section shall not apply to persons delivering
such articles upon order of, or by agreement with a customer
from a store or other fixed place of business or distribution.
(B) No person shall park or stand on any street, any
lunch wagon, eating cart or vehicle, or push -cart from which
tamales, peanuts, popcorn, candy or other articles of food or
refreshment are sold or offered for sale without first obtain-
ing a written permit to do so from the City Council which shall
designate the specific section in which such cart shall stand.
(C) No person shall park or stand any vehicle, or wagon,
used or intended to be used in the transportation of property
for hire on any street while awaiting patronage for such ve-
hicle or wagon without first obtaining a written permit to do
so from the City Council, which shall designate the specific
location where such vehicle may stand.
(D) No person shall deposit, leave, place or park in any
street any cement or concrete mixer, wheelbarrow, push -cart,
hand -drawn or hand- propelled vehicle or other object, thing, or
property (other than those referred to under subdivisions (A),
(B) and (C) of this Section 5 of this Article XIV of this or-
dinance) in such a manner or for such a time as to interfere
with traffic, either vehicular or pedestrian, in or upon such
street or in such manner to constitute a hazard to the safety
of traffic or of any person or persons or property in and upon

such street, or fail to immediately remove the same upon order
of any police or traffic officer of said City; provided, however,
that the Traffic Autho3dty shall have the right and power to au-
thorize, in writing, for limited periods of time, the placing
or parking of any such vehicle, object and /or thing on any
street in such manner as will not constitute the same a nui-
sance or a hazard to life or property or unreasonably inter-
fere with traffic in or upon such street.
(E) No person shall stand or park a vehicle upon any
street for the purpose of displaying such vehicle for sale by
sign or otherwise.
(F) Whenever any permit is granted under the provisions
of this section and a particular location to park or stand is
specified therein, no person shall park or stand any vehicle,
wagon, push -cart, object, or thing on any location other than
as designated in such permit. In the event that the holder of
any such permit is convicted in any court of competent juris-
diction for violating any of the provisions of this section,
such permit shall be forthwith revoked by the City Council
upon the filing of the record of such conviction with the said
City Council, and no permit shall thereafter be issued to such
persons until six (6) months have elapsed from the date of such
revocation.
SECTION 4. SIGNS OR MARKINGS TO INDICATE LIMITED
PARKING. That in addition to the streets and portions thereof
hereinabove designated for limited parking the Traffic Authority
may appropriately sign or mark such other and additional streets,
places, or portions thereof, as in the opinion of the Traffic
Authority may require such marking for limited parking, and
when so signed or marked no person shall stop, stand or park
a vehicle, or any portion thereof, in any of such respective

places for a longer period of time than that designated in the sign
or signs, or marking or markings, for such place or location.
SECTION 5. WASHING OR REPAIRING VEHICLES IN STREET. No
person shall repair, dust, wipe, wash or otherwise clean, use or
employ any method of dusting, repairing, wiping, washing or other-
wise cleaning any vehicle or portion thereof, while in or upon any
street when any charge or gratuity is directly or indirectly made
or received therefor, except in case of actual emergency and then
only at the place where such emergency occurred.
SECTION 6. USE OF STREETS FOR STORAGE OF VEHICLES PRO-
HIBITED. (a) No person who owns or has possession, custody or con-
trol of any vehicle shall park such vehicle upon any street or alley
for more than a consecutive period of 120 hours.
(b) In the event a vehicle is parked or left standing upon a
street in excess of a consecutive period of 120 hours, any member
of the police department authorized by the Chief of Police may re-
move said vehicle from the street in the manner and subject to the
requirements of Sections 585 and 585.1 of the Vehicle Code.
SECTION 7. EMERGENCY PARKING SIGNS.
(A) Whenever the Traffic Authority shall determine that an
emergency traffic congestion is likely to result from the holding
of public or private assemblages, gatherings or functions, or for
other reasons, the Traffic Authority shall have the power and
authority to order temporary signs to be erected or posted indi-
cating that the operation, parking or standing of vehicles is pro-
hibited on such streets and alleys as the Traffic Authority shall
direct, during the time such temporary signs are in place. Such
signs shall remain in place only during the existence of such
emergency and the Traffic Authority shall cause such signs to be
removed promptly thereafter.
(B) When signs authorized by the provisions of the Section
are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall operate, park
or stand any vehicle contrary to the directions and provisions of
such signs.
ARTICLE XV
SECTION 1. BICYCLES AND ANIMALS. Every person riding a
bicycle or driving an animal upon a highway is subject to the pro-
visions of this ordinance applicable to the driver of a vehicle,
except those provisions which by their very nature can have no ap-
plication.

ARTICLE XVI
SECTION 1. TAMPERING WITH TRAFFIC SIGNS, SIGNALS,
MARKINGS OR CONTROL DEVICES. It shall be unlawful for any per-
son or persons to.tamper with, or deface, or remove, or cause
to be removed, without authority of the Traffic Authority so to
do, any sign or signs, marking or markings, or traffic control
devices, erected under or pursuant to the provisions of this
ordinance.
ARTICLE XVII
SECTION 1. TRAFFIC AUTHORITY ONLY TO PLACE SIGNS
AND MARKINGS. It shall be unlawful for any person other than
the Traffic Authority, or person acting under his authority,
to paint markings upon the curbs ®V place any traffic signs
within said City.
ARTICLE XVIII
PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS OF CERTAIN PORTIONS
OF CERTAIN STREETS,
SECTION 1. (A) That the City Council of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby determine, upon the basis
of an engineering and traffic investigation duly ordered and
made, that the prima facie speed limit of fifty -five miles per
hour presently obtaining on that certain portion of Grand Ave-
nue between the Alley westerly of Concord Street and Loma Vista
Street, within the said city, is more than is reasonable and
safe upon said portion of said Grand Avenue, and that said Coun-
cil does hereby determine and declare that the reasonable and
safe prima facie speed limit thereon is twenty -five miles per
hour which said declared prima facie speed limit of twenty -five
miles per hour shall be effective when appropriate signs giving
notice thereof are erected upon said highway.
(B) That the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali-
fornia, does hereby determine upon the basis of an engineering

and traffic investigation duly ordered and made that the prima
facie speed limit of fifty -five miles per hour presently ob-
taining on that certain portion of Grand Avenue between Main
Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, within the said city, is more
than is reasonable and safe upon said portion of said Grand
Avenue, and that said Council does hereby determine and declare
that the reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit thereon
is thirty -five miles per hour, which said declared prima facie
speed limit of thirty -five miles per hour shall be effective
when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected upon
said highway.
(C) That the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does hereby determine, that the basis of an engi-
neering and traffic investigation duly ordered and made, that
the prima facie speed limit of fifty -five miles per hour pre-
sently obtaining on that certain portion of Main Street between
Palm .Avenue and Grand Avenue, within the said city, is more
than is reasonable and safe upon said portion of said Main
Street, and that said Council does hereby determine and declare
that the reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit thereon is
twenty -five miles per hour, which said declared prima facie
speed limit of twenty -five miles per hour shall be- effective
when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected upon
said highway.
(D) That the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali-
fornia, does hereby determine, upon the basis of an engineering
and traffic investigation duly ordered and made, that the prima
facie speed limit of fifty -five miles per hour presently ob-
taining on that certain portion of E1 Segundo Boulevard, between
Virginia Street and Sierra Street, within said city, is metre
than is reasonable and safe upon said portion of E1 Segundo

Boulevard, and that said Council does hereby determine and de-
clare that the reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit
thereon is thirty -five miles per hour, which said declared
prima facie speed limit of thirty -five miles per hour shall
be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are
erected upon said highway.
(E) That the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, does hereby determine, upon the basis of an engi-
neering and traffic investigation duly ordered and made, that
the prima facie speed limit of fifty -five miles per hour pre-
sently obtaining on that certain portion of Imperial Highway
between Sepulveda Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard, within the
said City, is more than is reasonable and safe upon said por-
tion of Imperial Highway, and that said Council does hereby
determine and declare that the reasonable and safe prima facie
speed limit thereon is thirty -five miles per hour, which said
declared prima facie speed limit of thirty -five miles per hour
shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice there-
of are erected upon said highway.
(F) That the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, does hereby determine, upon the basis of an engi-
neering and traffic investigation duly ordered and made, that
the prima facie speed limit of fifty -five miles per hour pre-
sently obtaining on that certain portion of Douglas Street
between Imperial Highway and the southerly end thereof, within
the said city, is more than is reasonable and safe upon said
portion of said Douglas Street, and that said Council does
hereby determine and declare that the reasonable and safe prima
facie speed limit thereon is thirty -five wiles per hour, which
said declared prima facie speed limit of thirty -five miles per
hour shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice
thereof are erected upon said highway..
