ORDINANCE 4204- ORDINANCE NO. - 42o _ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODE IN AND FOR SAID CITY AND ALSO ADOPT- ING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE THEREIN REFERRED TO. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That the rules, regulations, provisions, requirements, orders and matters set forth in that certain code entitled: "Uniform Electrical Code Published by the Pa- cific Coast Electrical Bureau 1951 Edition ", and in that cer- tain code entitled: "1951 National Electrical Code (NBFU Pamphlet No. 70) ", which is referred to in said Uniform Elec- trical Code, shall be and the same are hereby established and adopted as the rules, regulations, provisions, requirements and orders to be observed and followed in the construction, installation, arrangement, alteration, repair, maintenance and operation of electric or electrical wiring, fixtures, appli- ances and equipment within the City of E1 Segundo, California; and the issuance of permits therefor. SECTION 2. Three full printed copies of said "Uniform Electrical Code Published by the Pacific Coast Electrical Bu- reau 1951 Edition ", and three full printed copies of said "1951 National Electrical Code (NBFU Pamphlet No. 70) ", print- ed as a code in book form, were actually filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, in the City Hall of said City, on the 18th day of February, 1953, and each and all of the said copies, ever since the date of said filing, have been and now are, and ,will hereafter continue - 1 - Y Y._ to be, open to public inspection, and for use and examination by the public. SECTION 3. That wherever any provision of said "Uniform Electrical Code Published by the Pacific Coast Elec- trical Bureau 1951 Edition" is in conflict with the provisions of said "1951 National Electrical Code (NBFU Pamphlet No. 70) ", the provisions of said Uniform Electrical Code shall control. SECTION 4. That any person, firm, association or cor- poration violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction of any such violation such person, firm, association or corporation shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali- fornia, or in the County Jail of Los Angeles County, California, as the committing magistrate may direct, for a period of not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. Every such person, firm, association or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during which, or during any portion of which, any of the provisions of this ordinance is violated and shall be punish- able therefor as herein provided. SECTION 5. That Ordinance No. 278 of said City, and all ordinances amendatory thereof; and all ordinances and parts of ordinances insofar as the same conflict with the provisions of said "Uniform Electrical Code Published.`by the Pacific Coast Electrical Bureau 1951 Edition" and said "1951 National Elec- trical Code (NBFU Pamphlet No. adopted, are hereby repealed. 70) ", both of which are hereby SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall become effective at midnight on the thirtieth day from and after the date of the final passage and adoption thereof. - 2 - SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the pro- ceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and within 15 days after the adoption thereof shall cause the same to be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within said City, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
