AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUND09
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING VACANT FOR PUBLIC
STREET PURPOSES ALL THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC
STREET WITHIN SAID CITY DESIGNATED,
NAMED AND KNOWN AS OAK PLACE, AS CON-
TEMPLATED BY RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1038.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, on the 19th day of October, 19499 at a regular
meeting of said Council held on said date, duly passed and
adopted a resolution, being Resolution of Intention No. 1038,
entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL.SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION
OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR
PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, ALL OF THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC
STREET WITHIN SAID CITY DESIGNATED, NAMED AND
KNOWN AS OAK PLACE . ";
AND, WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, after the passage and adoption of
said resolution, caused to be conspicuously posted along the
lines of Oak Place, within said City, as hereinafter described,
and along the lines of all of the public streets, ways, roads
and drives, and portions of public streets, ways, roads and
drives within the assessment district described in said Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 1038, and at not more than three hundred
(300) feet in distance apart, upon said streets, ways, roads
and drives; and not less than three (3) in all, on any such
street, way, road or drive, notices of the passage of said
resolution, said notices being named "Notice of Public Work ",
in letters not less than one (1) inch in length, and stating
the facts of the passage of said resolution, its date, and
briefly the work or improvement proposed, being that of

vacating and abandoning for public street purposes all of that
certain public street within said City of E1 Segundo, California,
designated and known as Oak Place, as hereinafter described,
which said notices referred to said Resolution of Intention for
further particulars;
AND, WBEREAS, said Street Superintendent also caused
a notice, similar to that hereinbefore referred to, to be pub-
lished by four (4) successive insertions in the E1 Segundo Herald,
a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated
within the said City of E1 Segundo, being the newspaper designated
by said City Council for the purpose of said publication; and more
than ten (10) days after the expiration of the time of publica-
tion of said notice having elapsed; and no objections to said im-
provement having been delivered to the City Clerk of said City,
or otherwise made, and the said Council having acquired juris-
diction to order the vacating of said Oak Place within said City,
as hereinafter described;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That all of that certain public street
within said City of El Segundo, California, designated and known
as Oak Place, which is included within the following described
exterior boundary line, to -wit:
Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Lot 7,
said point being located 39.99 feet southerly of the
northerly line of said Lot 7, all as shown on
Tract 123911, Book 2449 Page 29, of Maps, records of
Los Angeles County, California, recorded and on file
in the office of the County Recorder of said County;
thence northwesterly along a curved line, the same
being concave to the southwest and having a radius of
15 feet, to the intersection of said curve with a
line parallel and 25 feet southerly, measured at
right angles, from the northerly line of said Lot 7;
thence westerly along said parallel line to the
westerly line of said Lot 7; thence northerly along
the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of
said Lot 7, a distance of 50.00 feet to a point;
thence easterly 104.99 feet along a line parallel
with and 25 feet northerly, measured at right angles
from the north line of said Lot 79 to a point on the

beginning of a curve concave to the northwest and
having a radius of 15 feet; thence easterly and
northerly along said curve to the intersection of
said curve with the easterly line of Lot 6, Tract
12391, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence
southerly in a straight line to the point of
beginning.
be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned
for public street purposes.
That the purpose of these proceedings and of this
ordinance is to vacate and abandon for public street purposes
all of said hereinabove described public street designated and
known as Oak Place, within said City.
SECTION 2. That the public work or improvement herein
provided for is the vacating, abandoning and closing up of all of
Oak Place, hereinabove described in Section 1 hereof; and it
appearing to the City Council of said City of E1 Segundo that
there are no costs, damages or expenses occasioned by or arising
out of said work, and that no assessment is necessary to pay the
costs, damages or expenses of said work, now, therefore, said
Council does hereby further ordain and determine that no com-
missioners shall be appointed to assess benefits and damages.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance is adopted and the
proceedings for the vacation of said public street were taken
under and pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Opening Act
of 1889" of the State of California (Part 1 of Division 5 of the
Streets and Highways Code of said State).
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force and virtue thirty (30) days from and after the
final passage and adoption thereof.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the pro-
ceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of

the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; shall enter
the same in the book of original ordinances of said City; and
shall cause the same to be published once in the T1 Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and
circulated within said City of E1 Segundo, and which is hereby
designated for that purpose.
