ORDINANCE NO. 361
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 242
(THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE) OF SAID
CITY, BY .AIMDING SUBDIVISION "(1) NEW
I4PROVEIMNNTS "* OF DIVISION "(3) IMPROVE-
TS AND DRAINAGE:' OF SECTION "4. SUB-
DIVISION STANDARDS? OF SAID ORDINANCE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That subdivision "(1) New Improvements:'
of division "(E) Improvements and Drainage? of Section "4.
SUBDIVISION STANDARDS? of ORDINANCE NO. 242 entitled "AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUND09 CALIFORNIA., PRESCRIBING
HOLES AND REGUIMIONS GOVERNING THE PLATTING AND SUBDIVIDING
OF LANDS AND THE FILING AND APPROVAL OF SUBDIVISION NAPS
WITHIN SAID CITY. ", passed and adopted on the 2nd day of April,
19412 shall be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as
f ollows :
"(1) New Improvements. In all subdivisions the
streets, alleys, lots and easements shall be laid out,"
to provide for approved sewer and drainage facilities.
All such streets and alleys shall be graded and improved
to an approved width and grade. The improvements shall
include necessary surface improvements, curbs, side-
walks, water mains, fire hydrants, eatch- basins, pipe
culverts, and storm drains; and sewers shall be in-
stalled where connections for said sewers are available
into an existing system, or when ordered by the City
Council in contemplation of the construction of a lateral
sewer line into which such connections may be made.
"Drainage easements shall be improved in an ap-
proved manner. Primary and secondary streets shall be

graded, and improved to an approved grade and width
necessary for the general use of the lot owners in the
subdivision and through traffic needs.
"The provisions of this subdivision 1(1) New
Improvements.' may be waived in whole or in part as
they pertain to existing streets and alleys over
which the City has jurisdiction by reason of previous
subdivision, or separate deeds or easements granting
to the City jurisdiction over the same. Such waiver,
if authorized, shall be authorized only by the City
Council and by Resolution, which said Resolution shall
set forth the reasons for said waiver."
SECTION 2. That said Ordinance No. 242 shall be and
the same is hereby amended as hereinabove in Section 1 of this
Ordinance set forth.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force and virtue at midnight on the thirtieth day
from and after the date of the final passage and adoption thereof.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated
within the said City of E1 Segundo, and which is hereby designated
for that purpose.
