AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF CERTAIN SET BACK LINES ON CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF WALNUT AVENUE WITHIN THE
SAID CITY.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public peace, health, safety,
comfort, convenience, interest and welfare of said city
require, and it is hereby ordered and ordained that the
minimugt distance back from the street line for the
ereotion of buildings or structures on certain portions
of Walnut Avenue within the said City, shall be as follows,
to-wit:
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established twenty -five feet (251) south of the
southerly line of Walnut Avenue, as named, designated
and described in Resolution No. 559 of the City Council
of the City of E1 Segundo, passed, approved and adopted
on April 2, 1941, and as shown as Alley on map of
El Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages
114 and 115 of Maps, Records of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and on file in the
office of the Recorder of said County, between the
easterly line of Center Street, as shown on said map,
and a line parallel with, distant 133.63 feet westerly
measured along said southerly line from the westerly
line of Sepulveda Boulevard, as named, designated and
described in Resolution No. 558 of the City Council
of the City of El Segundo, passed, approved and adopted
on April 2, 1941, and as said westerly line is more

particularly shown as the westerly line of that
certain parcel of land, designated as Parcel 2 in
Final Judgment of Condemnation in Case No. 357580
In the Superior Court of the State of California in
and for the County of Los Angeles, recorded in Book
13174, page 92, Official Records of said County and
on file as aforesaid;
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established five feet (51) south of the southerly
line of- Walnut Avenue, as named, designated and de-
scribed in Resolution No. 559 of the City Council of
the City of E1 Segundo, passed, approved and adopted
on April 2, 1941, and as shown as Alley on Map of
El Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages
114 and 115 of Maps, Records of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and on file in the office
of the Recorder of said County, between a line parallel
with, distant 133.63 feet westerly measured along said
southerly line from the westerly line of Sepulveda
Boulevard, as named, designated and deaoribed in
Resolution No. 558 of said City Council, passed,
approved and adopted on April 2, 1941, and as said
westerly line is more particularly shown as the west-
erly line of that certain parcel of land, designated
as Parcel 2 in Final Judgment of Condemnation in Case
No. 357580 in the Superior Court of the State of
California in and for the County of Los Angeles,
recorded in Book 13174, page 92, Official Records
of said County and on file as aforesaid, and the ,
said westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard;
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established forty -five feet (451) north of the north-
erly line of Walnut Avenue, as named, designated and

described in Resolution No. 559 of the City Council
of the City of E1 Segundo, passed, approved and adopted
on April 2, 1941, and as shown as Alley on map of E1
Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages 114
and 115 of Maps, Records of the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, and on file in the office of the
Recorder of said County, said northerly line of Walnut
Avenue also being the southerly line of Lot 1, C. C.
Hunt's_ subdivision, as shown on map thereof recorded
in Book 36, page 36,.Misoellaneous Records of said
County, and on file as aforesaid, between the easterly
line of Center street, as shown on said map of E1 Segundo,
Sheet No. 5, and a line parallel with, distant 133.63
feet westerly, measured along said northerly line from
the westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard, as named,
designated and described in Resolution No. 558 of said
City Council, passed, approved and adopted on April 2,
1941, and as said westerly line is more particularly
shown as the westerly line of that certain parcel of
land, designated as Parcel 1 in Final Judgment of
Condemnation in Case No. 357580 in the superior Court
of the State of California. in and for the County of
Los Angeles, recorded in Book 131 74, page 92, Official
Records of said County and on file as aforesaid;
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established twenty -five feet (251) north of the north-
erly line of Walnut Avenue, as named, designated and
described in Resolution No. 559 of the City Council of
the C ity of El Segundo, passed, approved and adopted
on April 2, 1941, and as shown as Alley on Map of
E1 Segundo, sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages
114 and 115, of Maps, Records of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and on file in the office

of the Recorder of said County, said northerly line
of Walnut Avenue also being the southerly line of
Lot 1, C. C. Hunt's Subdivision, as shown on map
thereof recorded in Book 36, page 36, Miscellaneous
Records of said County and on file as aforesaid,
between a line parallel with , distant 133.63 feet
westerly, measured along said northerly line from
the westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard, as named,
designated and described in Resolution No. 558 of
said City Council, passed, approved and adopted
April 2, 1941, and as said westerly line is more
particularly shown as the westerly line of that
certain parcel of land, designated as Parcel 1 in
Final Judgment of Condemnation in Case No. 357580
in the Superior Court of the State of California in
and for the County of Los Angeles, recorded in Book
13174, page 92, Official Records of said County and
on file as aforesaid, and said westerly line of
Sepulveda Boulevard.
SECTION 2. That no building, wall (except
retaining walls) fence or any other structure shall be
erected or constructed, or moved upon any property or
premises between the set back lines hereinabove in Section
1 of this ordinance established and the street line of
Walnut Avenue in front of such premises or property, and
it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation
td construct, move upon or erect, or to begin, or engage
in the construction, moving or erection of any building,
wall, (except retaining walls) fence or other structure,
on any premises or property between said set back lines
so established, and the street line of Walnut Avenue in
front of such premises or property.

SECTION 3. That any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed
$300.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City
of E1 Segundo, or in the County Jail of the County Q: Los
Angeles, California, as the committing magistrate may
direct, for a period not exceeding three months, or by
both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the
court.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in said City of E1
Segundo, and hereby designated for that purpose.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take
effect thirty ( 30 ) days from and after the final passage
and adoption thereof.
