ORDINANCE N0. 245,
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
/- CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF CERTAIN SET BACK LINES ON CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF PALM AVENUE WITHIN THE SAID
CITY.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public peace, health,
safety, comfort, convenience, interest and welfare of said
city require, and it is hereby ordered and ordained that
the minimum distance back from the street line for the
erection of buildings or structures on certain portions
of Palm Avenue within the said City, shall be as follows,
to-wit:
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established twenty -five feet (251) south of the
southerly line of Palm Avenue, as shown on map of
E1 Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages
114 and 115, of Maps, Records of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and on file in the
office of the Recorder of said County, between the
easterly line of Center Street, as shown on said map,
and a line parallel with , distant 133.63 feet west-
erly, measured along said southerly line, from the
westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard, as named, de-
signated and described in Resolution No. 558 of the
City Council of the City of El Segundo, passed, approved
and adopted on April 2, 1941, and as said westerly line
is more particularly shown as the westerly line of that
certain parcel of land, designated as Parcel 6 in Final
Judgment of Condemnation in Case No. 357580 in the
Superior Court of the State of California in and for

the set back lines hereinabove in Section 1 of this
ordinance established and the street line of Palm Avenue
in front of such premises or property, and it shall be
unlawful for any person, firm cr oorporation to construct,
move upon or erect, or to begin, or engage in the construc-
tion, moving or erection of any building, walk., (except
retaining walls) fence or other structure, on any premises
or property between said set back lines so established,
and the street line of Palm Avenue in front of such
premises or property.
SECTION 3. That any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed
$300.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City
of El Segundo, Orin the County Jail of the County of Los
Angeles, California, as the committing magistrate may
direct, for a period not exceeding three months, or by
both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the
court.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published once in the E1 Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in said City of E1
Segundo, and hereby designated for that purpose.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take
effect thirty (30) days from and after the final
passage and adoption thereof.
Passed, approved and adopted this 9th day of
April A. D.0 1941.
