ORDINANCE NO. 2".
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF CERTAIN SET BACK LINES ON CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF MAPLE AVENUE WITHIN THE
SAID CITY.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public peace, health,
safety, comfort, convenience, interest and welfare of
said city require, and it is hereby ordered and ordained
that the minimum distance back from the street line for
the erection of buildings or structures on certain portions
of Maple Avenue within the said City, shall be as follows,
to-wit:
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established twenty five feet (251) south of the
southerly line of Maple Avenue, as shown on map
of E1 Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20,
pages 114 and 115 of Maps, Records of the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, and on file
in the office of the Recorder of said County, be-
tween the easterly line of Center Street, as shown
on said map, and a line parallel with, distant 133.63
feet westerly measured along said southerly line
from the westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard, as
named, designated and described in Resolution No. 558
of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, passed,
approved and adopted on April 2 , 1941, and as
said line is more particularly shown as the westerly
line of that certain parcel of land, designated as
Parcel 4 in Final Judgment of Condemnation in

Case No. 357580 in the Superior Court of the State
of California in and for the County of Los Angeles,
recorded in Book 13174, page 92, Official Records
of said County and on file as aforesaid;
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established five feet (51) south of the southerly
line of Maple Avenue, as shown on map of El Segundo,
Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages 114 and 115
of Maps, Records of the County of Los Angeles, State
of California, and on file in the office of the
Recorder of said County, between a line parallel
with, distant 133.63 feet westerly measured along
said southerly line from the westerly line of
Sepulveda Boulevard, as named, designated and de-
scribed in Resolution No. 558 of the City Council
of the City of E1 Segundo, passed, approved and
adopted on April 2 , 1941, and as said line is
more particularly shown as the westerly line of that
certain parcel of land, designated as Parcel 4 in
Final Judgment of Condemnation in Case No. 357580
in the Superior Court of the State of California in
and for the County of Los Angeles, recorded in Book
13174, page 92, Official Records of said County and
on file as aforesaid, and said westerly line of
Sepulveda Boulevard;
That a set back line be and the same is hereby
established twenty -five feet (251Y north of the
northerly line of Maple Avenue, as shown on map of
El Segundo, Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages
114 and 115, of Maps, Records of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and on file in the
office of the Recorder of said County, between the

of that certain parcel of land designated as Parcel
3 in Final Judgment of Condemnation in Case No. 357580
In the Superior Court of the State of California in
and for the County of Los Angeles, recorded in Book

on file as aforesaid;
That a set back line be and the same is hereby

established five feet (51) north of the northerly
line of Maple Avenue, as shown on Map of E1 Segundo,
Sheet No. 5, recorded in Book 20, pages 114 and 115 of Maps,
Records of the County of Los Angeles, State of Cali-
fornia, and on file in the office of the Recorder of
said County, between a line parallel with, distant
133.63 feet westerly measured along said northerly
line from the westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard,
as named, designated and described in Resolution No.
558 of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
passed, approved and adopted on April 2, 1941, and as
said line is more particularly shown as the westerly
line of that certain parcel of land, dLesignated as
Parcel 3 in Final Judgment of Condemnation in Case
No. 357580 in the Superior Court of the State of
California in and for the County of Los Angeles,
recorded in Book 13174, page 92, Official Records
of said County and on file as aforesaid, and said
westerly line of Sepulveda Boulevard.

SECTION 2. That no building, wall, (except
retaining walls) fence or any other structure shall be
erected or constructed, or moved upon any property or
premises between the set back lines hereinabove in
Section l of this ordinance established and the street
line of Maple Avenue in front of such premises or
property, and it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to construct, move upon or erect,
or to begin, or engage in the construction, moving or
erection of any building, wall, (except retaining walls)
fence or other structure, on any premises or property
between said set back lines so established, and the
street line of Maple Avenue in front of such premises
or property.
SECTION 3. That any person, firm or corpora-
tion violating any of the provisions of this ordinance,
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of
not to exceed $300.00 or by imprisonment in the City
Jail of the City of El Segundo, or in the County Jail
of the County of Los Angeles, California, as the oommitt-
ing magistrate may direct, for a period not exceeding
three months, or by both such fine and imprisonment in
the discretion of the court.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published once in the El Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in said City of E1
Segundo, and hereby designated for the purpose.

SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take
effect thirty (30) days from and after the final passage
and adoption thereof.
