CAZIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12
OF SAID CITY, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE
14TH DAY OF MARCH, 1917, AS AMENDED TO THE
DATE HEREOF, BY AWDING SECTION 37 1/2

The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12 of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, entitled:
"AID ORDINANC$ OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
LICENSING AND REGULATING CERTAIN KINDS
OF BUSINESS TRANSACTED AND CARRIED ON
IN SAID CITY AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF. ",
passed and adopted on the 14th day of March, A. D., 1917,
as amended to the date hereof, be and the same is hereby
amended by amending Section 37 1/2 thereof, and which will
read as follows:
"SECTION 37 1/2. It is further provided, how-
ever, that nothing in this o rdinanoe hereinbef ore
oontaiAed shall be construed, however, as requiring
any person, f i rm or corporation conducting any
business, profession, trade, or .oalling, at a
fixed location within the City of E1 Segundo, Cali-
fornia, subject to a monthly, quarterly, semi- annual
or annual license hereunder, the gross receipts of
which are less than the sum of Seventy -Five Dollars
($75.00) per month, to pay any license under- this
ordinance; provided,, however, that any person, firm
or corporation claiming the benefit of the exemption
provided in this section shall make and deliver to
the Chief of Police for delivery to the City Clerk

for tiling, an of fi davit properly sworn to before
an officer authorized to administer oaths, stating
and declaring that the business for which said
person, firm or corporation seeks such exemption
has gross receipts of less than Seventy -Five Dollars
($75.00) per month. A new affidavit must be executed
and filed in order to keep such exemption in force
at the end of each monthly, quarterly, semi - annual
or annual period for ihich such exemption is hereby
granted.
Upon the filing of the affidavit referred to in
this section the City Clerk shall issue a license for
the conducting of said business for the proper period
as provided in this ordinance free of a harge .
Any person, f iim or corporation making or filing
or cansing to be made or filed any affidavit pursuamt
to the provisions of this section and containing any
false statement, false declaration or false repre-
sentation of facts shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and shall be subject to the same punishment provided
for other violations of this ordinanos set forth in
Section 1 hereof."
SEOTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published ones in the E1 Segundo Herald, a
weekly newspaper of general circulation printed, published
and c iroulated within the said City and hereby designated
for that purpose.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and virtue thirty (50) days after the final passage
and adoption the re of .
