REGULATING CERTAIN KINDS OF BUSINESS
TRANSACTED AND CARRIED ON IN SAID CITY
AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION

The City Council of the City of El Segundo;
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12 of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, entitled:
if AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO
LICENSING AND REGULATING CERTAIN KINDS
OF BUSINESS TRANSACTED AND CARRIED ON IN
SAID CITY AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF. ",
passed, approved and adopted on the 14th day of March,
1917, as the same has been amended to date, be, and the

same is hereby amended by adding a new section thereto
to be known and designated as "Section 34c" and which
said new section shall read as follows:
"SECTION 34c. AbNSEMENT AND SKILL MACHINES
AND EE ICES, ETC:
For each and every machine or device, other
than such as are hereinafter prohibited, having
an amusement feature connected therewith; or which

SECTION 2. That said Ordinance No. 12, so
passed and adopted, as amended to date, is hereby amended
as hereinabove set forth.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published once in the official
paper of said City, to-wit: the E1 Segundo Herald, a
weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, pub-
lished and circulated within said City, and which is
hereby designated for that purpose.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take
effect and be in full force and virtue thirty days from
and after the final passage and adoption thereof.

reference to its operations or the results
thereof and which permits the use or operation
of the same by the insertion of -
(1) A five cent coin, or a coin of greater
value, or slug or token 900...$25900 per quarter;
(2) A, one cent coin, slug or
token ........................10.00 per quarter.
Provided, however; that nothing in this
ordinance contained shall be construed as per-
mitting the operation within said City of any
vending machine or vending device, which paysa or
delivers mint or mints, gam or other confection
or merchandise; fora coin inserted in such machine
or device, and which has in connection with the
operation of the same an amusement feature or
device; or which as the result of the operation
thereof pays or delivers a slug or slugs, or a
token or tokens; which may be inserted in such
machine in lieu of a coin for operation thereof
for amusement purposes, as the operation or use
of all such machines in the City of El Segundo,
California, is hereby prohibited.
It is further provided herein that no license
for any machine or device under this Section 34e
of this ordinance shall be granted unless written
permission has first been obtained from the City
Council of said. City permitting the same. Said
Council in its discretion may grant or refuse to
grant any such permit applied for; all licenses
granted under said section shall be revocable at
the pleasure of the Council for any reason which
