AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY
NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON
THE TAXABLE PROPERTY THEREIN AS A REVENUE
TO CARRY ON THE' VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS
(INCLUDING THE EL SEGUNDO PUBLIC LIBRARY),
AND PAY THE BONDED INDEBTBDBES3 OF SAID
CITY FOR THE CURRENT YEAR, 1934 -1935.
The City Council of the City of 31 Segundo,
California, does ordain as follow:
SECTION 1. That the amount of money neoessary
to be raised by taxation ul►on the taxable property in the
City of 11 Segundo, California, as a revenue to carry on
the various departments (including the El Segundo Public
Library) of said municipal corporation for the current fiscal
year 1934 - 19559, and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness
of said City of BI Segundo, California. and necessary to be
-- raised by taxation upon the taxable land of that certain
municipal improvement district therein, hereinafter referred
to, is hereby, for the respective items or purposes above and
hereinafter referred to, fixed as follows, to -w1t:
1. For carrying on the various depart-
ments (including the El Segundo
Public Library), of said City

21 For paying the bonded indebtedness
of said City the sum of - - - $ 12,492.02
30 For paying the bonded indebtedness
of Act of 1927 Municipal Im-
provement District No. 1 of
the City of 31 Segundo, the

SECTION Z. This ordinance, being an ordinance
required under the provisions o f an act of the Legislature
of the State of California, entitled, "An Act to Provide
for the Levy and Collection of faxes by and for the Use of
l;lunicipal Corporations and Cities Incorporated Under the
Laws of the State of California, except Municipal Corpora-
tions of the First Class, and to Provide for the Consoli-
dation and Abolition of Certain Iunicipal Offices, and to
Provide that their Duties may be Performed by Certain
Officers of the County, and Fixing the Compensation to be
Allowed for such County Officers for the Services so
Rendered to such Iunicipal Corporation," approved Larch
27, 1895, as amended to date, to go into effect prior to
the 28th day of August, 1934; and also being an ordinance
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health
and safety of said City, in this, that it is urgently
needed to make proper provision for municipal revenues
without which the City could not function,, the same shall,
therefore, take effect and be in full force immediately
upon the passage and adoption thereof.
