_ ORDINANCE NO. 182.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OP EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, GRANTING TO STANDARD OIL
C OKPANY OF CALIF CRNIA, PERMISSION TO
MAINTAIN CERTAIN 'WHARVES CONSTRUCTED
BY SAID COMPANY IVITHIN SAID _CITY.
WHEREAS, Standard Oil Company of California,
a Delaware corporation, did on the 12th day of November,
1931, file with the City of E1 Segundo, Cali io mia, in the
office of the City Clerk of said city, an "Application
..�- for Permission to Maintain Wharves 0onstrueted at El Segundo";
AND, M1BREAS, said application, Mich is now on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, hereby
expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated
herein and made a part hereof, contains a declaration that
said application will be presented to the City Council of
the City of E1 Segundo, California, on the 9th day of
December, 1931.;
AND, WHEREAS, said 9th day of December, 19:31
has now arrived and the City Council of said city is now
sitting in regular session;
AND, WHEREAS, said Standard Oil Company of
Cali fo mia, through its agents and attorneys has at this
meeting of said City Council presented said application to
said Council and has introduced evidence and filed affida-
vits shovdng that notice of the proposed presentation of
said application to said Council and the hearing thereon
has been duly published, posted and given in all respects
as required by lair;

AND, WHEREAS, proofs in support of the grant-
ing of said application to the of feet that the public
good, interest and convenience of said city will be
�~ promoted by the granting to said Standard Oil Company of
California, the applicant, of the right to maintain the
wharves referred to in said application, as prayed for
therein;
AND, WHEREAS, no objection of any kind, whether
written or oral, to the granting of the application, has
been made;
NOw, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
El Segundo, California, do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That said Council hereby finds that
the public interest, good and convenience of the City of
El Segundo, California, and of the general public and
inhabitants of said city, will be promoted by the granting
to Standard Oil Company of California, of the right to
maintain the wharves referred to in its "Application for
' Permission to Maintain Wharves Constructed at E1 Segundo ",
of November 12, 1931, in the manner and for the term set

forth in said application.
SECTION 2. That in view of the foregoing
premises and the findings of this Council hereinabove set
forth, and the law in such case made and provided, the
application of the Standard Oil Company of California,
a Delaware corporation, for permission to maintain the
two certain wharves described end referred to in its
"Application for Permission to Maintain Wharves Construct-
ed at E1 Segundo". on files in the office of the City
Clerk of said city, which sa3.d application by reference
heretofore made in this ordinance, has been in-
co rpo rated herein and made a part hereof, shad be

and the same is hereby granted for the period of twenty
(20) years as prayed far in said application; and said
applicant shall therefore have the right to maintain
said wharves at the locations, for the term and under
and upon the conditions set forth in said application.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published once in the El Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and eircu-
E lated within the said City of E1 Segundo, California,
and rich is hereby designated for that purpose.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take
effect and be in full force and virtue thirty (30) days from
and after the final passage and adoption thereof.
Passed, approved and adopted this 16th day of
December, A. D., 1931.

I do hereby further certify that pursuant to the
provisions of Section 878 of Act 5233 of the General Laws
of the State of California, (Deering 1923 Edition), as
amended to date, that the foregoing ordinance No. 182 was
duly and regularly published according to the law and the
order of the City Council of said city in the E1 Segundo
Herald a weekly newspaper of general circulation printed,
published and circulated within the said city and that the
same was so published therein on the following date, to -wit:
