ORDINANCE 174ORDINANCE NO. 174 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULA- TIONS RELATING TO ACID REGULATING TEE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGEMPNT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, CONVERSION, OCCUPANCY, EQUIP - MENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE, OF BUILDINGS AND/OR STRUCTURES IN THE SAID CITY; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS THEREFOR; DECLARING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND/OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; BY ADOPTING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF A CERTAIN CODE (DESIGNATED THEREIN AS 111950 EDITION OF THE PACIFIC COAST CONFERENCE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE") , RELATING TO SUCH MATTERS, PRINTED IN BOCK FORM AND FILED AS PROVIDED BY LAIC IN THE 037ICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California., do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That the rules and regulations set forth in the following portions, to-wit, in pages 1 to 207, both inclusive, and in chapter 47 on pages 220 to 231, ,both inclusive, and in the pages lettered "a" to "j ", both inclusive, of that certain Code, designated as "1930 Edition of the Pacific Coast Conference Uniform Building Code ", (said Code containing in all, including r the appendix and index thereto, 271 numbered pages, and 1- _ x.1_'72 as an outline thereto 10 additional pages, lettered "a" to "j ", both inclusive), three full printed copies of which, printed as a code in book fore, were by this Council ordered filed, and were actually filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo, California, on the 5th day of November, 1930, together with a full and complete file containing all documents and papers referred to therein, (a second complete file containing all such documents and papers referred to in said Code being also on file in the office of the Building Inspector of said City),- shall be and the same are hereby established and adopted as the rules and regulations and provisions to be observed and followed in the erection, construation, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of buildings and /or structures in the said City of E1 Segundo, California, ani said portions of said Code containing such rules and regulations and provisions are hereby established and adopted by and for said City. SECTION 2. That as provided in Section 305 of the said ~1930 Edition of the Pacific Coast Conference Uniform Building Code ", any person, firm or corporation violating any of the rules, regul-ations or provisions of said hereinabove adopted portions of said Code, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person, fi im or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day, or portion thereof, during which any violation of any of the rules, regula- tions or provisions of said adopted portions of the said (bode, is committed, continued or ps rmitted, and upon the conviction of any such violation, such person, 2- Ll--- _ 11'73 firm or corporation shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $300.00, or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of El Segundo, California, or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, California, as the committing magistrate may direct, for not more than ninety days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. SECTION 3. As provided in Section 4604 of said "1930 Edition of the Pacific Coast Conference Uniform Building Code', this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after thirty days from its date of final passage and approval. SECTION 4. That as provided in Section 4603 Of said Code, Ordinance No. 31 of said City, and all ordinances amendatory thereof, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with said adopted portiiozB of said Code, are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinaric9 and shall comes the same to be published once in the official paper of said City, to- wit: The El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper published and circulated within said City, and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
