AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
EXTENDING THE APPOINTIENT AND COMPENSATION OF THE
COMMISSIONERS TO ASSESS THE BENEFITS AND DAMAGES
AND TO HAVE GENERAL SUPERVISION OF THE PROPOSED
WORK (F LAYING OUT AND OPENING OF CYPRESS STREET,
PEPPER STREET, CEDAR STREET, ACACIA AVENUE, SYCA-
MORE AVENUE AND OAK AVENUE IN THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AS ORDBRED BY ORDINANCE NO.
135 OF SAID CITY.
The City Council (formerly Board of Trastes0of the
City of El Segundo, California, does hereby ordain and determine
" follows:
THAT WHEREAS, on the 4th day of February, A. D. ,j 1909
Ordinance No. 135 of the City of Bl Segundo, California, was
duly passed and adopted, which said ordinance is entitleds
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALI-
F011NIA, ORDBRING THE LAYING OUT AHD OPENING OF
CERTAIN NEW PUBLIC STREETS, WITHIN THE SAID
CITY TO BE DESIGNATED AND 1NOWN AS CYPRESS
S' - To BE TWEEN WALNUT AVENUE AND C OLL INGW OOD
STREET; AND PEPPER STR$$T BETWEEN MAPLE AVENUE
AND COLLINGWOOD STREET; AND CEDAR STREET, BE-
TWEEN WALNUT AVENUE Alm COLLIAGWOOD STREET, AND
ACACIA AVENUE, BETWEEN THE WESTERLY BOUNDARY
OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA AND
MAR STREET; ALSO BETWEEN PEPPER STREET AND
CYPRESS STREET; AND SYCAMME AVENUE BETWEEN
PEPPER STREET AND PENN STREET; AND OAK AVENUE,
BETWEEN THE WESTERLY LINE OF LOT 9, BLOCK 89
TRACT 1685, CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
AND BONITA VISTA AVENUE, ALSO BETWEEN BAYONNE
STREET AND THE 9ESTERLY LINE OF LOT 8, BLOCS
92, BL SEGUNDO SHEZT NO. 39 CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, ALL WITHIN THE SAID CITY, APPOINTING
THREE COMMISSIONERS TO ASSESS THE BENEFITS AND
DAMAGES, TO HAVE GENERAL SUPERVISION OF ME
PROPOSED WORK AND PRESCRIBING THEIR PO9IERS AND
DUTIES."
AND, WHEREAS, by virtue of "Section Two" of Ordinance
No. 135 thereof, Arnold F. Fitzgerald, H. H. Heaston and G. B.
Young were appointed as Commissioners to assess the benefits
and damages said to have general supervision of the proposed

work and improvement as ordered by said Ordinance No. 135
until the completion thereof, in compliance with the law;
AND, WHEREAS, the appointment of said Commissioners
was extended for a period of six months by Ordinance No. 140
of said pity, entitled:
"AN ORD INAINCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA EXTENDING THE APPOINTMENT
AND CONMhATION OF THE C061MISSIONERS TO
ASSESS THE BENEFITS AND DAMAGES AND TO
HAVE U13RAL SUPERVISION OF THE PROPOSED
WORK OF LAYING OUT AND OPENING OF CYPRESS
STRUT, PEPPER STREET, CEDAR STREET„ ACACIA
AVENUE, SYCAMORE AVENUE AM) OAK AVE tUE IN
THE CITY OF RL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AS
ORDERED BY ORDINABOB N0, 135 OF SAID CITY."
- in acoordame with the provisions of the Street Opening Act
of 1889;
AND, WHEREAS, said period of six months will expire
on the 9th day of March, 1928, and the work ajA improvement
ordered by said Ordinance No. 136 is not completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is ordained and determined as
follows:
SECTION 1. That Arnold F. Fitzgerald, H. H. Hesston
and G. E. Young, appointed by "Section Two" of said Ordinance
No. 136 of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and they are
hereby reappointed as such Commissioners and that their term
of office is hereby extended for a period of six months from
and after the 9th day of March, A. D., 1928,
SECTION 2. That said Commissioners shall be cost.
pensated for their services at the rate of $1.00 per hour,
provided however, that such compensation shall in no case
exceed $200.00 per month and shall not continue for a longer
period than six months, from the 9th day of March, 1928,
unless extended by order of the City Council of said city.
SECTION 3. This ordinsz:oe shall be published once
in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general oir.

of El Segundo, California, and shall take effect immediately

upon the passage and adoption thereof.
