e AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF El SEGUNDO,
OALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ESTABLISH![EYT
OF CERTAIN SET BACK LINES ON A CERTAIN
PORTION OF MAIN STREET WITHIN THE SAID
C ITY.
The Oity Council (also sometimes known as Board of
Trustees) of the City of El Segundo, Califbmia, does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the pablim peace, health, safety,
oomfoat, convenience, interest and welfare of said City require,
and it is hereby ordered and ordained that the minimum distance
back from the street line for the erection of buildings or
structures on the westerly side of Main Street, betwren the
northerly line of Palo Avenue and the southerly line of Lot
One (1), Block 95, as said westerly line of Main Street In
shown upon 31 Segundo Sheet No. S, oad recorded in Book 20,
Pages $E and E3 of Yaps, Records of Los Angeles County, and
on file in the office of zhe County Recorder of said County,
shall be as follows, to-wit:
On the westerly side of Main Street between the
northerly line of Palm Avenue and the Southerly line of Lot
One (1)9 Block 959 as said westerly line of Main Street is
shoin upon Ei Segundo Sheet No. 30 and reoorded in Book 80,
Pages $8 and E3 of Yaps, Reoords of Los Angeles County, and
on file in the office of the 'County Recorder of said County,
the set back line shall be known as such and shall be a line
distant eighteen (18) feet westerly of and measured at right
angles from the westerly line of Yain Street.
SECTION 8. No building, wall, fence or other
structure shall be erected or constructed, or moved upon
any property or premises between the set back ::line here-

inabove in Section 1 of this ordinance established and the
i street liar of Main Street in front of shah premises or

property, and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
sorporation to construct, move upon or erect, or to begin,
or engage in the construction, moving or erection of
my building, wall, fence or other structure, on any pro-
mises or property between said set back line so established
and the street line of Main Street in front of such premises
or property.
SECTION S. That any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon oonviotion there-
of shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300.00
or by imprisonment in the City Nail of the CitR' Af �E1 :Dognndo,
or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, Califomia,
as the committing magistrate, may determine, for a period not
exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprison -
ment in the discretion of the court.
SECTION 4, The City Clerk small certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly
newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City
of El Segundo, and hereby designated for the pu2poss.
This ordinance shell take effeot immediately
upon th e f anal passage and asdopt ion thereof.
