ORDINANCE 120ORDINANCE NO. 120 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, EXTENDING THE APPOINTMENT AND COMP1911SATION OF THE COMMISSIONERS TO ASSESS THE BENEFITS AND DAMAGES AND TO HAVE GENERAL SUPERVISION OF THE PROPOSED WORK OF LAYING OUT AND OPENING OF SYCAMORE AVENUE IN THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AS ORDERED BY ORDINANCE NO. 113 OF SAID CITY. 883 The Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, ` California, do hereby ordain and determine as follows: THAT, NHEREAS, on the 27th day of February A. D., maw 1925, Ordinance No. 113 of the City of El Segundo, California, was duly passed and adopted, which said Ordinance is entitled: and, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE LAYING OUT AND OPENING TO A UNIFORM WIDTH OF FIFTY FEET OF A CERTAIN NEW PUBLIC STREET WITHIN SAID CITY TO BE DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS SYCAMORE AVENUE, BETVIEEN THE WESTERLY LINE OF MAIN STREET AND A LINE DRAWN PARALLEL TO THE WEST BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AND DISTANT 298.75 FEET MEASURED AT RIGHT ANGLES EASTERLY THEREFROM WITHIN THE SAID CITY, APPOINT- ING THREE CO! UISSIONERS TO ASSESS THE BENEFITS AND DAMAGES, TO HAVE GENERAL SUPERVISION OF THE PROPOSED WORK AND PRP_SCRIgING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES" WHEREAS, by virtue of "Section 2 ", thereof, Adolph Leuzinger, George A. Johnson and Arnold F. Fitzgerald were appointed as commissioners to assess the benefits and damages and to have general supervision of the proposed work and improvement as ordered by said Ordinance No. 113 until the completion thereof, in compliance with the law, and WHEREAS, said "Section 2" provides that said Commis- sioners shall be canpensated for their services at the rate of $200.00 per month, provided however, that such compensation Cwas not to continue for a longer period than six months, A 1- ��° • unless extended by order of the Board of Trustees of the said City of E1 Segundo, California, and WHEREAS, "Section 6" of the "Street Opening Act of 1889" provides that neither the appointment nor compensation of such commissioners shall continue for more than six months, unless extended by WHEREAS, will expire on the WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 113, NOW, THEE order of the Board of Trustees, and the term of appointment of said commissioners 12th day of September, A. T). , 1925, and the work and improvement ordered by said is not completed, 3EFORE, it is ordained and determined as f ollows : SECTION 1. That Adolph Leuzinger, George A. Johnson and Arnold F. Fitzgerald, appointed by "Section 2" of said Ordinance No. 113, of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and they are hereby reappointed as such commissioners and that their term of office is hereby extended for a period of six months from and after the 12th day of September, A. D., 1925. SECTION 2. That said Commissioners shall be compen- sated for their services at the rate of $200.00 per month from and after the 12th day of September, 1925, to be computed however, only upon the actual time used by said commissioners in perform- ing their duties as such commissioners. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, ` printed, published and circulated in the said City of E1 Segundo, California, and shall take effect immediately upon the passage CC and adoption thereof.
