The Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 8 of Ordinance ITo. 67
of the City of El Segundo, California, entitled "All. ORDI-
I1AI1 CE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO , CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING
A BUSINESS DISTRICT; AIID REGULATIIIG TRAVEL AIM TRAFFIC
UPOU THE PUBLIC STREETS, AVEIIUES, ALLEYS AND HIGHWAYS OF
SAID CITY AND THE PARKIIIG AIM OPERATIEG OF MOTOR AND OTHER
VEHICLES THEREON ", passed and adopted on the 7th day of
July, 19209 be, and the same is hereby amended so as to
read as follows:
"SECTION 8. That between the hours
of seven and eight o'clock in the morning

and the hours of four end five o 'clock
in the afternoon of each and every day
hereafter, it shall be unlawful to park
or leave standing, any motor or other
vehicle, unattended by a competent
driver for a longer period than five
minutes on the northerly side of E1
Segundo Avenue, between Richmond Street
and Concord Street, within said City."
SECT 2. That there shall be added to said
Ordinance Igo. 67, a new section to be known end designated
as Section 142f which said Section 14x shall read as
follows
"SECTION 14x. It shall be un-
lawful for any person to park or leave
standing, or to cause or permit to be
parked or left standing, any animal or
vehicle in any street or alley opposite
the entrance to, or exit from, any
theatre, motion picture house or public
assembly hall during the presentation
of any play, motion picture, opera,
entertainment, lecture, debate, or other
form of entertainment; or while persons
are congregated for any purpose in such
theatre, motion picture theatre or hall."
For the purposes of this section the word "opposite"
�J shall be deemed to mean that certain space on the same side
of the street as such theatre, motion picture theatre or hell

lying within ten (10) feet of the point of intersection
of the curb in front of such theatre, motion picture
theatre or hall and a line drawn at right angles to such
curb through the center of such entrance or exit.
SECTIOII 3. This ordinance is an ordinance
for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety of the said City of E1 Segundo, Cal-
ifornia, and the facts constituting its urgency are as
follows:
There are at the present time great numbers
of automobiles at certain hours and
periods of the day
using certain areas of the City of El Segundo, in this
ordinance referred to, andan objectionable practice of
parking automobiles in front of halls and theatres,
within Said city, in Waich public assemblages are in
progress, has arisen, all of which, in the opinion of
said Board of Trustees, is a menace to the public peace,
` safety and health of the said city; and
THAT, TFMEFORE, this ordinance shall take
effect and be in full force and virtue immediately
upon the final adoption and passage thereof.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this ordinance, and shall
cause the same to be published once in the "$1; Segundo Her -
414,", a weekly newspaper of general. circulation,
printed, published and circulated within the said city
of El_Seguudd, and which is hereby designed for that
purpose.

Whole number of members of the Board of Trustees of the
said City is five; that the foregoing ordinance, being
Ordinance Noe 91 , was duly passed and adopted by the
said Board of Trustees, approved and signed by the Pres-
ident of said Board, and attested by the City Clerk of
said city, all at a regular meeting of the said Board
held on the 16th day of January, 1923, and that the
same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
