PROPERTY, LIFE OR LIMB, AND FIXING AND DETERMINING
FIRE LIMITS IN AND FOR SAID CITY ", PASSED AND

The Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No.
31 of the City of El Segundo entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUND09 CALIFORNIA, REGULATING M
CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATI021, REPAIRING, DEMOLISHING, MAIN-
TAINING AND OCCUPYING OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES
WITHIN SAID CITY, PROVIDING FOR THE CONDEMNATION OF
BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES DANGEROUS TO PROPERTY,
LIFE OR LIMB, AND FIXING AND DETERMINING FIRE LIMITS
IN AND FOR SAID CITY," passed and adopted on the 20th
day of February. 1918, be amended so as to read gs fol-
lows:
SECTION 1. FIRE DISTRICTS: All those certain
portions of the City of E1 Segundo, California, as the
same are hereinafter fixed and described, shall be know

as, and are hereby designated and established to be
Fire District 80. l; Fire District No. 2; and Fire
District No. 3, respectively, of the said City.
"Fire District 80. 1 shall consist of all
of that portion of the City of 31 Segundo, California,
included within the following described exterior
boundary line, to -wit:
"Beginning at the point where the northerly
line of 31 Segundo Avenue (formerly Ballona Avenue)
intersects the center line of the alley midway between
Main and Standard Streets, an said streets, avenue and
alley are shorn upon a Map of $1 Segundo, recorded in
Map Book 18, at page 69 of Maps, records of Los Angeles
County, California, on file in the office of the
County ]Recorder of said County, thence northerly along
the center line of said alley and its projection
across intervening streets and railway property to its
intersection with the center line of Holly Avenue, as
said alley and Holly. Avenue are shown upon a map of
El Segundo Sheet Igo. 3, recorded in Map Book E0, at
pages 22 and 23 of said Map Records, on file as be-
fore mentioned; thence westerly along the center line
of said Holly Avenue to its intersection with the
center line of the alley midway between Concord and
Richmond Streets, as said alley and Concord Street
are shown upon said map of 31 Segundo Sheet Ho. 3;
thence southerly along the center line of said alley
and its projection across intervening Streets to its
i intersection with the said northerly line of Bl
Segundo Avenue (formerly Ballona Avenue), as said

alley and avenue are shown upon said map of El Segundo;
thence easterly along the northerly line of said El
WOMOW Segundo Avenue and its projection across intervening
streets to the point of beginning.
"Fire District No. 2 shall consist of all
that portion of the City of El Segundo, California, lying
without Fire District No. 1, as hereinabove designated,
And within the following described exterior boundary
line, towwit:
"Beginning at the point where the center line
of Holly Avenue intersects the center line of the alley
now midway between Main and Standard Streets, as said
streets and alley are shown upon a Map of E1 Segundo
Sheet No. 3, recorded in Map Book 20, at pages 22 and
23 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, California,
on file in the office of the County Recorder of said
County, said point of beginning being identical with
the northeasterly corner of Fire District No. 1; thence
northerly along the center line of said alley to its
intersection with the center line of Pine Avenue;

of J. H. Fisher's Subdivision, as per map recorded
in Book 22, at page 87 of Miscellaneous Reoorlls of
Los Angeles County, California, on file in the office
of the County Recorder of said County; thence wester-
ly along the southerly line of said J. H. Fisher's
Subdivision to the southwesterly corner of said Sub-
division; thence northerly along the westerly line of
said J. H. Fisher's Subdivision to the southeasterly
corner of Blook 92 of El Segundo Sheet No. 4, as per
map recorded in Map Book 20, at page 24 of Maps, re-
-,..- cords of Los Angeles County, California, on file in the
office of the County Recorder of said County, said
last mentioned point being in the northerly line of
Palm avenue; thence westerly along the northerly line
of Palm Avenue and its intersection across intervening
streets to a point 134.03 feet easterly from the easter-
ly line of Main Street, as said Main street is shown
upon sat d map of 'El Segundo Sheet No. 3; thence north-
erly on a line distant 134.03 feet easterly of and
parallel with the easterly line of said Main Street
and its projection across intervening streets to the
center line of Oollingwood Street (formerly Belleview
Avenue); thence westerly along the center line of said
Collingwood Street to a point 134.03 feet westerly
measured at right angles from the westerly line of
said Main Street; thence southerly an a line distant
134.03 feet westerly of and parallel with the westerly
line of Main Street and its projection across interven-
ing streets to the center line of said Palm Avenue;

thence westerly along the center line of said Palm
Avenue to a point 134.03 feet easterly measured at right
angles from the easterly line of Virginia Street as said
Virginia Street is shown upon said Map of El Segundo
Sheet Bo. 3; thence northerly on a line distant 134.03
feet from and parallel with the easterly line of said
Virginia Street and its projection across intervening
streets to the center line of said Collingwood Street;
thence westerly along the center line of said Colling-
wood Street to a point 134.03 feet westerly measured at
right angles from the westerly line of said Virginia
Street; thence southerly on a line 134.03 feet wester-
ly of and parallel with the westerly line of said
Virginia Street and its projection across intervening
streets to the southerly line of said Palm Avenue;
thence easterly along the southerly line of said Palm
Avenue to a point 100 feet westerly from the westerly
line of said Virginia Street; thence southerly in a
straight line to a point in the southerly line of the
alley between Palm Avenue and Mariposa Avenue, said
point being 100 feet westerly from the westerly line of
Virginia Street and distant 300 feet northerly from the
northerly line of Mariposa Avenue; thence westerly along
the southerly line of said alley and its projection
across intervening streets to the center line of Bonita
Vista Avenue; thence southerly in a straight line to a
point in the northerly line of said El Segundo Avenue
(formerly Ballona Avenue), said last mentioned point be-
ing the southwesterly corner of Lot 9 of Block 16 of
said El Segundo and distant 1ES.73 feet westerly from the

westerly line of Zoma Vista Street; thence easterly
along the northerly line of said El Segundo Avenue and
its projection across intervening streets and alleys to
the center line of the alley midway between Concord and
Richmond Streets, said last mentioned point being identi-
oal with southwesterly corner of said Fire District Fo.l;
thence northerly along the center line of said alley
and its projection across intervening streets to the
center line of Holly Avenue, said last mentioned point
being identical with the northwesterly corner of said
Fire District No. 1; thence easterly along the center
line of said Holly Avenue to the point of beginning.
"Fire District No. 3 shall consist of all the
territory included within that portion of the City of
El Segundo, California, lying and being within the cor-
porate limits of said City as the same do now or may
hereafter exist, and which is not included in either
Fire District No. 1 or Fire District No. 2 of the said
City, as the same are hereinabove fixed and described."
That said Ordinance No. 319 and all ordinances
supplementary thereto, be, and the same is hereby so
amended.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this ordinance, and shall
cause the ame to be published once in The E1 Segundo
Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated within the said City
of El Segundo, and which is hereby designated for that
purpose.

This ordinance is an ordinance for the im-
mediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety of the said City of El Segundo, and the facts
constituting its urgency are as follows:
In order to properly protect the lives and
property of the public residing within the said City
of El Segundo and passing through the same, it is
essential that the structures therein to be ereoted
should be of such quality and character as to afford
the greatest safety from fire and other disaster, as is
possible under reasonable regulations, and that existing
provisions do not,, in the opinion of the Board of
Trustees, make adequate provision for such protection,
and that in the opinion of the said Board the provi-
sions contained in this ordinance will provide such
protection, and that therefore the said ordinance shall
take effect immediately upon the final passage and
adoption thereof.
Passed, approved and adopted this 22nd day of
March, A. D. 1922.

Clerk, all at a regular meeting of the said Board held
on the 22nd day of March, A. D. 1922, and that the same
Was passed by the following vote, to -Wit:
