AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING VACANT FOR PUBLIC ALLEY PURPOSES, A
CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY IN BLOCK 84 OF EL SEGUNDO, AS
SHOWN UPON SHEET 3 OF EL SEGUNDO, RECORDED IN BOOK
20, PAGES 22 AND 23 OF M.LPS, RECORDS OF LOS ANGELES
COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE
COU'.?TY RECORDER OF SAID COUNTY, ;WHICH SAID ALLEY IS
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF EL SEGUN'110 .
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, on the 14th day of Janu ary , 1920, at a
regular meeting of said Board held on that date, duly passed and
adopted a resolution, being resolution No. 25 and entitled:

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS
INTENTTOIN TO CLOSE U?, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR
PUBLIC ALLEY PURPOSES, ALL OF A CERTAIN PUBLIC
ALLEY IN BLOCK 84 OF EL SEGUNDO, AS SHOWN UPON
SHEET 3 OF EL SEGUNDO, RECORDED IN BOOK 20,
PAGES 22 AN 23 OF MAPS, RECORDS OF LOS ANGELES

AND WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the said City
of E1 Segundo, after the passage of said resolution, caused to

be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated im-
provement, and at not more than 300 feet in distance apart, upon
said alley, and not less than 3 in all, upon said alley, notices
of the passage of said resolution, said notices being named,
^NOTICE OF UUBLIC ;YORK", in letters not less than one inch in
length and stating the fact of the passage of said resolution,
its date, briefly the work of improvement proposed, being that
of vacating all of the public alley as hereinafter described, and
the said notice herein mentioned, referred to said resolution for
further particulars; said street superintendent having also caused
a notice, similar to that hereinbefore referred to, to be
published by four successive insertions in the E1 Segundo Herald,
a weekly newspaper printed and published and circulated in said
City of E1 Segundo;(there being no daily newspaper so published,
printed and circulated in said City of E1 Segundo) and the said
Street Superintendent having alto posted such notices along all
streets and alleys and parts of streets and alleys within the
assessment district described in the said resolution, and not less
than three notices in all upon any of such streets or alleys, all
as required by law, and more than ten days after the expiration
of the time of uublicetion of said notice having elapsed, and no
objection to said improvement having been delivered to the City
Clerk of said City of E1 Segundo or otherwise made, and the said
Board of Trustees having acquired jurisdiction to order the
vacating of said alley as hereinafter described,
NOl THEREFORE THE BOARD OF TRUSLEES OF THE CITY OF
EL °EGUNDO, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That all of that certain public alley in
Block 84 of El Segundo *as shown upon Sheet 3 of E1 Segundo, re-
corded in Book 20, pages 22 and 23 of Maus, records of Los Angeles
County, California, on file in the office of the County Recorder
of said County, and more particularly described as follows: All
of that certain fifteen foot alley, running easterly and westerly

in said Block 84 and being of a uniform width of seven and one
half feet measured at right angles on either side of the following
described center line: Beginning at a point in the easterly line of
said Block 84, 3072 feet north of the south line of said Block
84, and running thence westerly on a line parallel with the southerly
line of said Block 84, a distance of 140 feet, be closed up,
vacated and abandoned for public alley purposes;
The purpose of these proceedings is to vacate, and
abandon for public alley purposes, all of that certain public alley
in said Block 84, as shown upon said Sheet 3 of E1 Segundo,
recorded in Book 20, pages 22 and 23 of Naps, records of said Los
Angeles County, 'California, on file in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, and hereinabove described.
Section 2. That the public work herein provided for
is the closing up of all of that certain public alley hereinabove
referred to in Section 1, and it appearing to the Board of Trustees
of said City, that there are no costs, damages or expenses
occasioned by or arising out of said work, said Board hereby
resolves that therefore no commissioners shall be appointed to
assess benefits and damages.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
by one insertion in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said
City, and which is hereby designated for that purpose, and there-
upon and thereafter the same shall take effect and be in full
force.
