ORDINANCE NO. 44
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
REGULATING THE CONDUCT OF PERS0145 IN PUBLIC STREETS,
ALLEYS, COURTS, PARKS, BUILDINGS AND OTHER PUBLIC
PLACES WITHIN SAID CITY, AND PROHIBITING THE MUTILA-
TION OR DESTRUCTION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY.
The Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person
or persons to wander in or about any of the public streets,
alleys, courts, parks, or other public places,within the
City of E1 Segundo, California, at late or unusual hours
of the night without any visible or lawful business.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person
or persons within the City of E1 gegundo, California, to
conduct himself, or themselves, in a manner, or commit
any acts therein, which openly outrages public decency,
or which seriously disturbs or endangers the public peace,
health, or safety of said City.
SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for any per-
son or persons within the said City of E1 Segundo, Califor-
nia, to design, mark, copy, draw, engrave, print, paint,
cut, write, or otherwise place, any obscene, vicious,
lewd, or indecent figure, character, or writing, in or
upon any property in any public street, alley, court, park,
building, or public place, within the City of El Segundo,
California.

SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for any
person or persons, unless acting under authority of the
Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
to willfully or intentionally injure, deface, mart, or
disfigure, any part of any building, or any property
within the corporate limits of said City, and belong-
ing to the said City of E1 Segundo, or under the juris-
diction or control of the Board of Trustees of said
City.
SECTION 5. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance, shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be
punishable by a fine of not exceeding $50.00, or by im-
prisonment in the City Jail of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, for a term not exceeding thirty days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the
Court.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same
to be published once in the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a
weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated within said City of E1 Segundo,
and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the final passage thereof.

of the said Board, held on the 18th day of
September 1918, and that the same was
passed by the following vote:
