A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO 2000 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
The City Council of the City of El Segundo resolves as follows:
Section 1: The City Council finds and declares as follows:
A. Water Code 10610 et seq., known as the Urban Water
Management Planning Act mandates that every supplier providing water
for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more
than 3,000 acre feet of water annually, prepare an Urban Water
Management Plan, the primary objective of which is to plan for the
conservation and efficient use of water;
B. The City is an urban supplier of water providing water to over
4,600 customers.
C. The Plan must be reviewed at least once every five (5) years
and the City must make amendments or changes to the plan indicated by
the review.
Section 2: The 2000 Urban Water Management Plan is adopted and ordered
filed with the City Clerk.
Section 3: The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to file the 2000 Urban
Water Management Plan with the California Department of Water
Resources within thirty (30) days after this date;
Section 4: The City Manager, or designee, will recommend to the City Council
procedures, rules, and regulations to implement appropriate Water
Conservation Programs, Water Shortage Emergency Programs,
including effective and equitable allocations of water resources.
Section 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of
said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and
adopted.
Section 6: This Resolution will take effect immediately upon adoption.
