A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN ADDENDUM
TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
AND THE EL SEGUNDO GENERAL EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City has met and conferred in good faith with representatives of
the El Segundo General Employee's Association; and
WHEREAS, discussions which have taken place in the meet and confer process
have resulted in a mutually agreeable addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding
between the City of El Segundo and this Association;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, by the City Council of the City of El Segundo
as follows:
SECTION 1. That staff is authorized to implement all terms and conditions of
the addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of El Segundo and the El
Segundo General Employee's Association.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.

AND
THE EL SEGUNDO EMPLOYEES /SEIU, LOCAL 347, AFL -CIO
1. This addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding between these parties, effective July 1, 1995
through June 30, 1998, is made and entered into between the Service Employees International Union,
Local 347, AFL -CIO, and the management representatives of the City of El Segundo, pursuant to
Government Code Section 3500 et seq., and City Resolution No. 3208.
2. The parties have met and conferred in good faith and have jointly prepared this Addendum to the
Memorandum of Understanding.
3. This addendum incorporates the following items:
a. Effective July 5, 1997, the base salary set forth within each step of the salary range
applicable to each represented classified position shall be increased by 3 %.
b. The City shall equalize sick leave payout upon retirement in accordance with Attachment A
attached hereto.
C. Representatives of the City and the Union shall create joint labor management teams to
foster improved communication and productivity.

ATTACHMENT A
SICK LEAVE PAYOFF UPON SEPARATION
GENERAL EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATION
Employees separating from service because of a disability retirement, after five (5) years
of service, will be compensated at 80% of the employees' accumulated, unused sick leave
at the employees' current rate.
