RESOLUTION NO. 3824
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO SETTING FEES FOR STREET SWEEP-
ING IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 12.10.050 OF
THE EL SEGUNDO MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, on May 7, 1991, the El Segundo City Council entered
into an agreement for the sweeping of City streets in the City of
El Segundo; and
WHEREAS, upon expiration of the current street sweeping
contract, it is the City's intent to continue to provide street
sweeping services; and
WHEREAS, Section 12.10.020 of the E1 Segundo Municipal Code
requires that the City street sweeping service be used for
sweeping of all City streets in the City of E1 Segundo; and
WHEREAS, Section 12.10.050 of the E1 Segundo Municipal Code
allows for the establishment of rates for street sweeping fees by
resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo's economic well being neces-
sitates that the cost of providing street sweeping be passed on
to the beneficiaries of the service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, that the following rate and rules
for imposing street sweeping fees is hereby adopted and estab-
lished for street sweeping services provided by the City of E1
Segundo, in accordance with Sections 12.10.020 and 12.10.050 of
the E1 Segundo Municipal Code;
SECTION 1. The rate for street sweeping fees in the resi-
dential area is established at $0.49 per month, per residential
unit.
SECTION 2. The street sweeping fee shall be billed on a bi-
monthly basis along with charges for water, sewer service, and
any other fees established by the City Council and placed on such
bill.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective on the
effective date of Ordinance No. 1202 which provides for the
imposition of fees for street sweeping, and was introduced at the
August 3, 1993 City Council meeting.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be of no further force and
effect on August 31, 1996 at 12 midnight.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered
in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make
a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
