CC RESOLUTION 3803RESOLUTION NO. 3803 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICULAR • PURSUIT POLICY. WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The El Segundo City Council does hereby find, determine and declare that: A. California Vehicle Code Section 17004.7 provides that a public agency employing peace officers which adopts a written policy on vehicular pursuits that meets the minimum standards set forth in that section is immune from liability for personal injury or death of any person or damage to property resulting from the collision of a • vehicle being pursued by a police vehicle; and B. The E1 Segundo Police Department has drafted Pursuit Procedures which meet the standards set forth in California Vehicle Code Section 17004.7(c); and C. The Council of the City of El Segundo has reviewed the Pursuit Procedures drafted by the El Segundo Police Department. SECTION 2. Based upon the aforesaid findings, determinations and declarations, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo hereby adopts the El Segundo Police Department Vehicular Pursuit Policy, pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 17004.7. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution.
