CC RESOLUTION 3776RESOLUTION NO. 3776 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA FIXING AND ESTABLISHING RATES AND CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE IN SAID CITY INCLUDING AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 3397. • WHEREAS, Chapter 14.04 of the E1 Segundo Municipal Code "fixes, adopts and establishes the rules and regulations for the service of water from the Waterworks System of the City; and WHEREAS, Section 14.04.060 of said Chapter 14.04 of said Municipal Code authorizes the rates and charges for water service to be fixed and established by Resolution; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 3397 was adopted 7/1/92 by the City Council that established the basis of the charges and rates being adequate to maintain the economic strength of the Water System Enterprise Fund. WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of continuing to assure the long term financial and physical viability of the City Waterworks System and further, of assuring the equitability of rates and charges as between various categories of users connected to and using water and water service, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS, SECTION 1 (AMENDING SECTION 2 OF SAID RESOLUTION NO. 3397) WATER RATES TO BECOME EFFECTIVE FOR SERVICE TO BE PROVIDED THE FIRST BILLING CYCLE BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 1, 1992 AND THEREAFTER. A. For monthly consumption over 20,000 cubic feet or 566 cubic meters, $ 0.8101 per 100 cubic feet or $ 0.2863 per cubic meter. Where two (2) or more meters are installed in a battery or manifold the service connection size shall be used for computing the readiness -to -serve charge and the consumption charges shall be based on the combined total readings of all meters in the battery or manifold. SECTION 2. (AMENDING SECTION 3 PART OF SAID RESOLUTION NO. 3397) WATER LIFELINE SERVICE. Water Lifeline Rate. For water consumed in excess of 1,000 cubic feet or 28 cubic meters bi- monthly, additional charges will be made in accordance with Section 1 of this Resolution. SECTION 3. Upon the City becoming aware of usage of the fire protection service connection for other uses the City may require the customer to arrange for a physical separation of the water uses from the fire protection system. Should any water consumption occur, an estimate of water usage will be made and a billing made by the City based on prevailing basic water rates. SECTION 4. UNMETERED WATER RATES (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 7 OF SAID RESOLUTION NO. 3397). j The charges and rates shall be as follows: R3776 - 7/7/92 Page 3 of 5 To turn on and off a fire hydrant $ 57.50 including first 10 minutes of usage of flow. Thereafter the charge shall be $ 1.73 for each minute • of flow. SECTION 5. CERTIFICATION.
