A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING SCHEDULES OF FEES FOR WORK
IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY,
AND FOR APPLICATION AND PROCESSING
OF BUILDING, PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL PERMITS,
PLATS AND SUBDIVISIONS, AND ZONING FEES.
WHEREAS, City Council Urgency Ordinance No. 1144 adopted
December 20, 1989 establishes that all fees for work in the public
right of way, and for application and processing of building,
Plumbing, and mechanical permits, plats and subdivisions, and
zoning fees be fixed and established by City Council from time to
time by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the attached Schedules of Fees are recommended to the
City Council to cover costs and work done in the public right of
way, and for application and processing of building, plumbing, and
mechanical permits, plats and subdivisions, and zoning fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Schedules of Fees, referred hereto and made
a part hereof as Exhibits A, B, C, D and E are hereby approved and
adopted as the Schedules of Fees for work in the public right of
way, and for application and processing of building, plumbing, and
mechanical permits, plats and subdivisions, and zoning fees.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective on the
effective date of Urgency Ordinance No. 1144 -
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of
original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the record of the proceedings of
the City Council of said city, in the minutes of meeting at which
the same is passed and adopted.

Plan Review Fees. When a plan or other data are required to
be submitted by Subsection (b) of Section 302, a plan review fee
shall be paid at the time of submitting plans and specifications
for review.
Said plan review fees for buildings of Group R -3, M -1
occupancies and fences, shall be one -half of the building permit
fees; provided, however, in all cases when proposed construction
involves work which is subject to the California Energy Conserva-
tion Standards, said plan review fees shall be 75 percent of the
building permit fees.
Said plan review fees for all other buildings shall be 154
percent of the building permit fees; provided, however, and in all
cases when proposed construction involves work which is subject to
the California Energy Conservation Standards said plan review fees
shall be 213 percent of the building permit fees.
Plan Retention Fees. Before issuing a building permit the
City shall collect a fee for retaining plans and related documents
which the Building official determines shall be kept as permanent
records of the City. The amount of the plan retention fee shall
be:

Temporary Buildings, Trailers and Structures
If the Building Official determines the temporary structure
is in compliance with said Code, he shall issue the permit applied
for upon payment of required fee as hereinafter fixed:

payment of the investigation fee shall not exempt any

(23) Double Fees:
When work for which a permit is required by this Code
is started prior to obtaining such permit, the fees
shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fee
shall not relieve any person from fully complying with
the requirements of this code in the execution of the
work nor from any other penalties prescribed for viola-
tions of the provisions of this code. (See Section
105.21.)

(25) Plan Retention Fees:
Before issuing an electrical permit, the City shall
collect a fee for retaining electrical plans and the
related documents which the Building Official deter-
mines shall be kept as permanent records by the City.
The amount of the plan retention fee shall be:
Each sheet larger than 8 -1/2 in. x 11 in....... 1.50
Each sheet 8 -1/2 in. x 11 in. or smaller....... 1.00
In no case shall the charge be less than....... 1.00
(26) Plan Check Fees:
Projects listed under Section 105.7 of this article
shall be charged a plan check fee equivalent to 65%
of the permit total, but in no case less than $20.00.

When plans and specifications are submitted for plan
check, the submitter will be notified by this de-
partment if there are code corrections or if the plans
are ready to issue. This department will notify the
submitter by phone and mail. If the plans which are
ready to issue after notification are not issued
within 180 days, the plans and specifications will be
destroyed and a new plan check will be required with
new fees.
