RESOLUTION NO. 3483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A
PUBLIC HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER
PUBLIC NECESSITY, HEALTH, SAFETY, AND
WELFARE REQUIRE THE FORMATION OF AN
UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IN THE
ALLEYS EAST AND WEST OF MAIN STREET IN
BLOCKS 10, 11, 22, 23, 43, 58, 59, 74
AND 75 BOUNDED BY EL SEGUNDO BOULEVARD
ON THE SOUTH AND MARIPOSA AVENUE ON THE
NORTH AND BLOCK 42 (THE CIVIC CENTER)
BOUNDED BY HOLLY AVENUE ON THE NORTH,
GRAND AVENUE ON THE SOUTH, STANDARD
STREET ON THE EAST, AND MAIN STREET ON
THE WEST IN THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO.
(UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 3)
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 718 establishes a procedure
for the creation of underground utility districts and requires as
the initial step in such procedure the holding of a public hearing
0 to ascertain whether public necessity, health, safety, and welfare
require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and
facilities for supplying electric, communication, cable television
or similar or associated service in any such district; and
WHEREAS it has been recommended that such an
underground utility district, hereinafter called District, be
formed in the alleys east and west of Main Street in Blocks 10,
11, 22, 23, 43, 58, 59, 74 and 75 bounded by E1 Segundo Boulevard
on the south and Mariposa Avenue on the north and Block 42 (The
Civic Center) bounded by Holly Avenue on the north, Grand Avenue
• on the south, Standard Street on the east, and Main Street on the
west in the City of E1 Segundo.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public
hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of El Segundo
on August 18 , 1987, at the hour of 7:00 p.m.
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, El Segundo, California,
to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety and
welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and
0 associated overhead structures and the underground installation
of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication,
cable television or similar associated service in the District
hereinabove described.
SECTION 2. That at such hearing all persons
interested shall be given an opportunity to be heard. Said
4 hearing may be continued from time to time as may be determined
by the City Council.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall notify all

affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment
roll and utilities concerned of the time and place of such
hearing by mailing a copy of this resolution to such property
owners and utilities concerned at least ten (10) days prior to
the date thereof.
SECTION 4. That the area proposed to be included
in the District is shown upon that certain map entitled,
"Underground Utility District No. 3 ", dated May 11, 1987 ,
which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
El Segundo.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of original Resolutions of said City, and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
